We had a fantastic experience. The building was built in 1540, but has all the modern conveniences. You can just sense the history that has occurred there. The location was perfect, just minutes from Piazza San Marco. Concerning steps, we used the elevator that Riccardo had installed and had no problems. Riccardo and Grace were the perfect hosts. Their kindness... More

There is not enough words to describe how wonderfully amazing this B & B is.....the decor is fab, the breakfast is filling...but the real gem of this B & B is Ric & Grace. This was my second time staying here, the first time I didn't get to meet Grace, but Ric made me feel like I was "Home", he... More

We stayed in the Parents Room which looks out over a quiet courtyard. The room was large and illuminated by a gorgeous taupe-colored chandelier (what else would you expect in Venice?) The bath had a shower with lots of hot water. Riccardo and Grace made us feel welcome right away, marking a map with their suggestions for eating and sight-seeing.... More

Where do I begin... by the time we got to the B&B from the airport, we were exhausted and ready to get rid of our luggage. When we got to the entrance, it was a little dark and we were unsure if it was the right place, but then we saw Riccardo stick his head out the window waving and... More

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at the Corte Campana Bed and Breakfast in Venice. We had a great experience! Riccardo, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful. His suggestions on where to eat were spot on! The room was exactly what we expected. The A/C worked very well, which was important to us. We stayed in the... More

Riccardo and Grace made us feel like family. They did a great job at making us comfortable and welcomed. The location of the B&B was perfect. Unfortunately three days in Venice is not enough. However, this gives us a great reason to com back to Corte Campana. PS.Be sure to book a few months in advanced. They are popular due... More

OMG, location in Venice is everything! And Corte Campana (CC) cannot be beat. Less than a two-minute walk from Saint Mark's Square, CC offers a quiet haven in the bustle of over-crowded Venice. Ricardo is the hard working and very friendly host. CC is a small B&B, only three private rooms. Yet small is an advantage because it allows guests... More

In my opinion, this is the best B & B in Venice. The location is excellent - very close to St. Mark's Square. The hosts are excellent. Riccardo and his wife make you feel like family. Riccardo speaks good English. His wife is American and of course speaks English very well. The rooms are very clean and good size. The... More

This B&B is a gem. Grace and Ric (the owners) are such wonderful people! They are very enthusiastic and are very helpful. They have great suggestions on places to eat and see. The location is very close to St. Mark's Square. The room we had was very large and the bathroom was big!

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
