Its quite hard to find a good B & B (or a hotel for that matter) in Venice that doesn't left you with a bitter memory. "Al Saor# is not one of them on the contrary, you feel satisfy and glad after your stay there. The B&B is not that big so you feel like home. The room we got... More

The room is walkable from major attractions. The staff was very cooperative and helpful. The breakfast served was good. Wifi was good enough. Generally in budget rooms, bathroom has barely any space, but in our room it was pretty comfortable with enough room. Overall my stay at Venice was memorable and would recommend this B&B for people looking for budget... More

I thought that I reviewed this before! It has been about 2 years since my wife & I were there. The location was great, 2 minutes walk from the water Bus stop & if I recall correctly may be 10 minutes walk to Piazza St. Marco. The owner is very nice 7 helpful. The place is small but cute. Overall... More

We stayed at this B&B for 3 nights in September 2014. We were informed a couple of weeks before that there had been an overbooking and we had been relocated to a nearby apartment. We arrived around midday and we had to call the owner when we got there as we needed a code to get into the B&B to... More

Just best value for money you'll find in Venice. Fantastic location in Cannaregio. Cozy, very comfortable room and lovely terrace for breakfast. Sylvia and Franscesca were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us... even to the point of organising free parking at a friend's hotel in Maghera (a short bus trip to Venice). And her friend had bought bus tickets... More

We loved this B&B! Cozy yet spotless, super cute and comfy this place gets 5 stars all around. My husband and I were just starting our honeymoon and this was our first stop. We just adored it! Directions were super easy and simple to follow on how to get there, the breakfast was delightful and Sylvia and Francesca were so... More

We stayed there for 2 nights and it was the worst experience in our 2-week trip around Italy. We book a double room with WiFi and breakfast and we informed the host about our late arrival date. She sent an e-mail with information that she will not be there when we arrive and we will find a letter with keys... More

My mom, sister, my sister's best friend, and my self stayed at Al Soar for two nights and we all loved it. The building is very old, but even with the renovations the charm and history is still noticeable in the walls and ceilings. We stayed in a room with the original exposed beams overlooking the street. We had three... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
