A very small hotel built into a protected 17th century palazzo. Run by Guido and Riccardo who couldn't do enough for us. When I say the hotel is small it has only 8 rooms and the breakfast area has only four tables. But the location and the atmosphere of the hotel make it a jewel. One to go back to... More

We couldnt have been happier at the Lanterna di Marco Polo! When hotel hunting we found so many of the hotels to be upwards of $700 a night. This place, for less than 1/3 that, offered everything we could have wanted. We also could have stayed cheaper and shared a bathroom, which we didnt want to do. It is located... More

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent near the Rialto Bridge. Guido greeted and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. Room was a little dark and there is no elevator/lift so be prepared to tote your luggage. This is a 3 star hotel with 5 star location and staff.

'Hotel' is half way between Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. Gentlemen at hotel are hospitable but breakfast could be much improved upon given the price paid. Other than that our stay was enjoyable and would surely visit Venice again but would look at other hotels.

The two owners, Guido and Riccardo go out of their way to make you feel at home. They have done a beautiful job with their hotel making it feel warm and cozy. Ideal location, easy to find, clean and comfortable. The rooms are comfortable with A/C if needed. There can be a bit of noise from the street until later... More

I'm travelling through Italy but I'm now torn whether to stay in Venice for the entire duration of my month long journey. Yes, its the most beautiful city. The amount of great things to see and do is overwhelming. Visually stimulating, and awe inspiring. So to have a base like Lanterna di Marco Polo only one minute walk from Rialto... More

Venice can be challenging, I know many people who have visited and spent hours navigating winding ally ways trying to find their hotel. This was not my experience, the staff at Lanterna di Marco Polo were great. Within hours of booking my stay through expedia I received a personalized welcome email from the hotel with simple instructions on how to... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. You cannot beat the location, Venice is a tricky city to get around in but this is so close to the Vaporetto stop by the Rialto, and you are close to Saint Marks square. We loved the hotel manager- he joked with us, helped me practice my Italian- was... More

Small traditional hotel in the heart of Venice, steps away from the Rialto bridge and a short walking time to San Marco. The environment of the hotel and its small streets around is magical !!! The rooms are quite basic and you cannot define them as luxury hotel rooms, but in Venice its quite sufficient. Breakfast is adequate. the owners... More

This hidden treasure is perfect as a base to explore Venice. Just minutes from the main Rialto Bridge, Fish Markets and San Marco Square, you can walk to everywhere easily. The Water Bus drops you really close and everything you need is on hand. The continental breakfast is basic but adequate with plenty of bars and restaurants within meters. Our... More
