It was my first and I believe this hotel was a right shot, no regrets and easy to find (water bus or "vaporetto" stop of "Accademia" is 5min on foot), nice staff and a good breakfast, I enjoyed a lot Venice and I hope the same to you all :)

In general the ambient was very good, the stuff helpful and the room comfortable, cosy and clean. However, there is serious lack of responsibility and security; we went out for a walk and when we came back there was a different person at the reception that had never seen us before. Instead of asking for identification, they just asked which... More

The hotel is very quaint. Very difficult to find so do your research. We assumed that it was nearest to the S.Marco waterbus stop but actually a short distance from the Accademia stop. The staff were very good that are very helpful and kind. There was no Wi-Fi in any part of the hotel I tried to access it in... More

We had a difficult time to locate it at the beginning, arriving almost at midnight and got off at S. Angelo Vaporetto station, gib=ving that none was around at that time of night, had to use the google map to find awry, not to mention taking the suitcases up and down the bridges. The hotel is old but reasonably clean... More

Our experience did not start out well. We took the boat from the train station to San Marco Square. Wrong move, the hotel is quite a walk from there. Since there are no cars our only option was to walk. Not good as we got pretty lost. Luckily we asked some wonderful local people who drew a map for us.... More

This is a small but well presented hotel in a small side street. It’s not perfect in every corner but it’s target customers aren't 5 star hotel dwellers. The nearest vaporetti stop is Accademia (route 2 from the station will get you there quickest). From the stop it’s a short walk over the bridge and around the corner. If you... More

That's all I can say about the hotel. We had the mini apartment room with kitchenette and sitting room. Old building but refurbished poorly in parts.Room very clean big bathroom but mouldy smell in the hallway. also it was 30+ degrees and air-con didn't work. It was ok as luckily we could open the window on the canal but we... More

Situated on San Marco this apartment was handy to all. Rooms good size, No views but short walk to everything. Breakfast was good. Air conditioners only worked fair but humidity was high and they eventually did the trick. Staff helpful with information and directions at all times. Wi fi didn't work on top floor.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
