Had a great stay. There was 5 of us and we stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which was roomy, clean and well equipped. Really close to water stop and most of the main sights. The owners are really friendly, helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend.

We stayed for our honeymoon there and had a pleasant stay. It is close to boat stop for airport (little bridges are the destinty in Venice). People were very friendly and kind. Breakfast was also good.

Venice is not the easiest City to travel, but worth the hassle. The host did send us water taxi and walking directions which were good, once we got within 100 feet, it was a bit tricky to find but we figured it out. We stayed on the first floor unit which was spacious for both the bedroom and bathroom areas.... More

This was my first trip to Venice and due to the fact that I have good experience in B&B in France and Spain we booked the Ca' Cappellis. Paola the host gave us detailled information before the trip, so despite the fact that you can get lost easily in Venice, we found the house immediately. The house is located in... More

Overall I am glad I stayed here but it was very hard to find. There is no marking on the building. You must call the owners from a phone so they can open the door from the inside. Breakfast is okay. The location was great though. Close to everything we wanted to see!

Six of us shared a three bedroom apartment which was fantastic. The gentleman who runs it (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) was great. He was extremely helpful as we arrived before check in time and the room wasn't ready yet. He provided us with snacks and water and stored our luggage until the room was ready. Excellent place... Old palace on a small canal where one floor has been converted into a B&B. The owners of the palace and B&B also live in the building. Our huge room was palatial, with large windows on a charming street, the bathroom was luxurious, modern and oversized. What we also enjoyed the breakfast buffet fit for a king. An endless choice... We had stayed the first two nights in a hotel near San Marco. The last night we stayed at Ca Cappellis. A totally different experience. It's a beautiful Venetian house overlooking a canal. The room was enormous. In fact the luxurious bathroom was twice the size of our hotel room the previous nights! Paula was a gracious hostess who made... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
