This is a good and affordable hotel in the city centre of Venice. The staff was kind and the rooms were spacious and had a good bathroom. The old style it had was also really nice. It wasn't an outstanding hotel but a good one for a citytrip.

The hotel was exactly what we needed. It couldn't be nearer the action - 2 minutes from St Mark's square (if you've got sharp elbows to fight the other tourists), near all main vaporetto stops for you to escape when you're sick of the tourists (and indeed at the beginning of the line for some of them so you can... The hotel is situated in an ideal location to explore Venice. 10 mins away from San Marco square and only 5 mins away from the nearest vaporetto stop (S. Maria del Giglio). It offers warm and clean rooms, with comfortable double beds, perfect for a good night sleep after an exhausted day discovering Venice! No elevator so be aware of... More

The location is great, 5 minutes walking from piazza san marco. Rooms are small but comfy and the owner is really friendly and helpful. Rooms could be better as they are a bit small but the overall value is good for the price.

The location is great for experiencing Venice. Venice is very pricey both to lodge and to eat. The room was the most expensive on our trip, but you are paying for the location. It costs 7Euro to board the water bus. So if you stay outside San Marco you will be paying anyway. Ca' Pedrocchi is located just off the... More

The place is dirty and has bed bugs, I booked there for 3 nights but have to cut short as the place is really not as shown in the picture. If you have heavy luggage do not stay there. Not recommended. The website is also trick. It states that you can book and pay later but some rooms they deducted... More

This hotel is not well signed but they do send you a great map so that is very helpful. Basically, the two gentlemen that run the place rent out something like 10 rooms in a 4 or 5 story house. It is older and the rooms are very small. Once you find the alley way where it is located, there... More

We stayed at this hotel last night and thankfully it was just for 1 night. There's no signage and it's down a tiny alleyway. There's no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up 4 flights of stairs as the owners don't help you. It hasn't been renovated in over 20 years so be prepared for everything to be... More

This is not an hotel. Located in a tiny street with no other sign than a door bell, you enter in what used to be a nice private house refurbished (long time ago) to accommodate tourists. Location is great, if you want to be near everything and can cope with the continuous (all night) noise from the main street under... More

My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be in a great location and service most of our needs. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, it can be a bit tricky to find however, we loaded up maps on our phones when we left our previous accommodation and 'pinned' the hotel. When we... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
