Two days in to a weekend in Venice at the Moresco... Why is the hotel the best in Venice? Attention to detail. The front desk staff simply cannot do enough for the guests. The hotel is beautifully decorated, quiet and comfortable. The garden and lounge provide relaxing retreats and the opportunity to share daily anecdotes. Breakfast is perfect too! Location... More

You would be nuts not to stay here. Every little detail surpasses expectations. This was one of my favorite hotel stays in my life, they just nailed it. The rooms are nice, the location is great, the bathrooms are updated, air conditioning, but the service is what makes the property. They go above and beyond to make you feel special... More

This small hotel was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were decorated beautifully. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. It is conveniently located and walking distance to the train station. When I return to Venice I will definitely stay in this hotel. We loved it.

Hotel Moresco lives up to its excellent rating from the trip advisor community. Thanks everyone for steering me to this lovely enclave in Venice. Though I booked on a discount service, the hotel took great care of me from before I ever checked in. They recommended and organised a private water taxi to pick us up from the airport which... From the first step into this hotel I was amazed by its cozy environment. We arrived early and was pleasantly happy to be in our room right away. The reception and room service along with all were quite friendly and courteous. I enjoyed breakfast in the morning and appi in the evening. Hotel is conveniently located not far from all... More

We stayed here in March for 4 days, a lovely hotel and we would come back. It's defiantly worth the top hotel in Venice. The room was perfect, clean and just right for our stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful and gave us lots of tips for eating out and sight seeing. It has a lovely outside area... More

We stayed here last year in 2014 and it's no surprise to me that this hotel is still getting 5 star reviews. For the price, location, room, amazing deal. We felt like royalty staying here. Even got complimentary prosecco, breakfast was good. Awesome view of canal. This hotel is what Venice is all about.

We arrived quite early about noon and were warmly greeted at reception and were happily surprised to find that our room was ready even though we were early and it wasn't yet check-in time. We were offered a welcome drink and some lovely snacks which we enjoyed in the bar while they sorted out our check-in details. Our room was... More

Wow, wow, wow!! What an amazing experience we had here! Couldn't fault this hotel in ANY way. One of the most incredible experiences when travelling around Europe! We did so much research trying to find where to stay in Venice, especially since we were arriving by train. So it was important for us to find something that was close to... More

We picked Moresco because it ranked no. 1 on Tripadvisor - and this choice paid off! I'm used to overpriced stuffy hotels in Venice where the lobby is nice but not the rooms - not so at the Moresco! It's a wonderful small hotel somewhat off the beaten path. It's in a residential area, real Venetians actually live here! This... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
