We had a nice experience here and thought the value was good. The location was excellent and the rooms were large. The breakfast was the only thing that really needed improvements. The quality of the food was subpar, for example, runny unappealing eggs, warm milk and yogurt which made us doubt freshness, and canned fruit.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was very nice. Lovely room, huge bathroom and very comfortable. Nice views over the canals towards St marks square. Comfy bed, large bath and separate shower. All decorated very nicely. This hotel isn't amazing, but is very pleasant. Would definitely recommend taking a private water taxi if you're coming from the airport. Also... More

We stayed in the Palace, simply a top hotel at top location with top service. Special thanks to everyone at the reception desk, all professional people lead by splendid host Nicolai. Maybe breakfast can have more variety, maybe dining room can be more contemporary like the Palace itself, but those are minor details. We will be back for sure.

Staying in this hotel was an incredible experience. It is on the canal where you see & hear gondolas. Great place to people watch as there is a bridge which crosses the canal. The location is premier, a couple a blocks from St. Mark's square. Clean, nice rooms (beds very comfortable) & good food.

This hotel is a good hotel but its not an excellent hotel. (3.5 Stars in our view) Our room was excellent but you would expect that for the price. Its very well located and we could not see anyone being unhappy with its location. On the other hand the breakfast area is 2 star and the breakfast itself 1 star.... More

Large wonderful rooms in this great centrally located hotel. 5 minutes walk to St Marks Square or Rialto Bridge, ample complimentary buffet breakfast with views overlooking the canal. Cozy hotel bar with friendly service for your pre or post dinner drinks. Helpful staff and concierge to assist with directions or sightseeing, helped us with transfers from airport to hotel and... Great spot, perfect location but reviews about staff are spot on, can't really be bothered and not very friendly at all. We had to move rooms as the bathroom looked like a hospital and I couldn't stay there, cost us an extra 80euro per night to change rooms. Gym was the basic set up 4 Cardio and free weights to... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
