We really liked the decor of our room, we stayed in a room to the front of the property overlooking a terrace and the street. The room was very clean as was the bathroom. Breakfast was good for what we paid, additional bonus was the Sunday breakfast which included scrambled eggs! For those arriving after 2pm is best to advise... More

The hotel itself is lovely - adequate sized room - shower stall could have been bigger my husband is 6"5 so it wasn't the best experience for him. My main complaint is the customer service or lack thereof in this hotel. We knew it was the Annex of another hotel so don't expect someone to be there all the time... More

Lovely hotel complete Venice experience , Venice is a warren of tiny alleys we felt like PAC MAN while trying to find hotel, when we booked we led to believe we had booked 2 separate rooms, but were given 1large family room 1double room and a double put me up bed, bearing in mind I was traveling with my husband,... We wanted a hotel that overlooked a quiet canal in a peaceful area not too far from the hustle and bustle of the city. We found it! We booked 3 nights in a junior suite. The room was just as we had hoped, a little over the top but perfect for a stay in this special romantic city. Four poster... More

This place is a gem located far enough away from the tourist noise, but close enough to walk to most touristic sites. The room had hardwood floors, a beautiful old Venice decor, comfortable bed, and great shower and bathroom. The breakfast room took you back to the days of Venice history. I would definitely stay here again.

We had our room booked for three nights and left after one night. The first impression was poor; we were "buzzed" into a tiny reception area and had to wait 15 minutes for someone to run from another hotel to check us in. The lights are on a timer and kept going off so we had to keep reopening the... More

Comfortable, classy, clean with a good location in the main part of Venice. This is definitely where you want to be, as outside the main island (eg in the Mestre) would make everything more difficult as you would be out of the city and would have to factor in travelling, and you may also miss Venice's night time charm. This... More

We had the pleasure of staying here overnight for a short stop in venice. What can I say! We were telephoned by the manager to tell us our room was ready and gave us directions to the hotel. Much needed in venice's maze of streets. The room absolutely took our breath away. The staff are absolutely amazingly friendly and nothing... More

Being our first trip to Venice we were very unprepared for the streets and alleys so it took us about 45 minutes to find the place! The directions on the web site were horrible (5 minutes from Rialto Bridge... HAH!) and gps does not work there. After asking about 10 different people along the way we happend to find it... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
