We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Even though the hotel doesn't look that compelling on the outside it is very cute and cosy on the inside. The hotel is located at a calm street and near all the main attractions. The location is one of the best things about the hotel! The room was also very clean and the... More

We stayed here of three nights at the end of April, the Casa Fenice was perfectly placed for all attractions. We received a warm welcome from the two ladies. Room was very clean, breakfast served in our room was more than adequate. Would love to go back someday.

We are looking to go back to Venice again and was looking at b&b's and found this one. We stayed here couple of years ago in December but I obviously didn't review our lodgings. Well please stay at this lovely little place. We got direct instructions how to find it via email before we departed the UK and it isn't... More

Me and my husband stayed here for 4 nights and we loved it. The location is fantastic, so close to San Marco Square, Rialto and of course Teatro La Fenice. It's very clean and the staff are so lovely, they could not do more for us. We had breakfast brought to our room each morning. The ladies were so friendly... More

A/c is fited in the room and I was feeling very hot at night and when I asked for A/c remote the staff said... More

We had a lovely time staying in this small beautiful b&b. The rooms were very unique and well done with murals and mirrors that was a refreshing departure from boring hotel rooms. The location was very close to St Marks place and the staff was extremely helpful and cordial. The breakfast was enjoyable as well although not lavish. We felt... More

We recently stayed here for 3 nights. It's situated a 5 minute walk from San Marco Piazza and close to some excellent cafes! It's also almost directly opposite Scala Contarini del Bovolo (if you can find it). The room was one of the smaller ones but it was cosy and roomy enough for a few days and the bed was... More

The rooms are as picturesque and fancy as seen on their website. Our kids felt like being duchess and king! Popular attractions around to walk in a few minutes, Piazza "Campo Manin" right 2 minutes away, also "Scala del Bovolo". Hotel is rather hard to find due to all these little alleys in Venice. Take care you don't land in... More

The good: Casa Fenice's main advantage is its location: less than a 10 min walk from San Marco piazza and a lot less from the vaporetto stop. Hence, exceptionally convenient. Also, the alley was - during most of the day- very quiet. The second main advantage is its people, as both Elisabeta (the owner-manager) and Giuliana were very nice to... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
