I stayed with family for three nights. 100 m walk from Rialto water taxi station. Map provided to us by hotel made the journey even shorter. We were tired and exhausted after going to Pisa on a Sunny and hot day. however the check in was in moments ... The lady in reception helped us with our luggage ( only... More

Close to the Rialto bridge, this hotel is in a great location. It is also within easy walking distance of Saint Mark's Square. The beds were a bit hard but this was overlooked as it had a lovely decor and air conditioning (which was really important as it was very hot while we were there.) Breakfast was delivered to the... This is a small hotel in a great location. Only a few minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square. Lots of restaurants and shops on the door step. The room was good, clean and a good size, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was brought to our room every morning and consisted of croissants, bread rolls, coffee,... More

The b&b is just few minutes away from the Rialto Bridge and the San Marco square. Absolutely central. The staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful with us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The room decorations are really nice. The WiFi has worked brilliantly. The breakfast is a bit uncomfortable without a table and chairs when served in the... More

There are 2 things we can't deny Residenza Goldoni: the very central location (although difficult to find at first) and the very helfpul and friendly receptionist (Abdu !). But the rest is quite average. The room is very small, which we knew but there was no place to have the in-room breakfast. The latter was not varied nor rich, more... More

Hotel in great central location. Free wi fi. Air con in room. Clean and well serviced each day. Would have loved on of the bed rooms on their web site but had one of the smallest rooms ever. Just about enough room for a double bed and no more. Maybe because of the price we paid. As we were out... More

Close to Rialto Bridge. In a tiny alley,,very little natural, light. Everything very clean. A few things didn't work on the first night; TV, safe and WIFI. Bedding and towels all a little tired. Room quite small but we understand it is what we booked. Doesn't seem great value for money. Breakfast a bit of a joke. Instant coffee!!!!!! More of... More

Well located near Rialto bridge, which is one of the water bus stops. The hotel is lovely with friendly, helpful staff. We booked through booking.com and made note of the fact we are on our honeymoon, on our arrival, we were taken to an upgrade room free of charge with a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us. The room is... More

When mum and I arrived at this hotel, firstly no one at the reception can speak English. We stood there for a good 15mins then I was told to listen on the phone. They told us that they don't have a room for us to stay so they would like to relocate us to their other hotel. They send us... More

We had a 2 night stay at Residenza Goldoni. We were disapointed when we checked in that our room wasn't available for the first night so we spent the night in a very small room. The hotel made up for that the following night by moving us into a superior room which was fabulous. To make up for the first... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
