The hotel is close to the Transportation lot and train. The rooms are very clean and the restaurant downstairs is amazing!!! This hotel allows you to explore Venice and always find your way home. The check-in and check-out was very easy and breakfast was included with our stay. The bathrooms are a little small but we made it work. Highly... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. Everything you need when in Venice...... clean room, clean shower and decent bed. Very quiet whilst we were there. No need to spend hundred of dollars a night for accomodation when your out all day exploring. Very close to train station and only 2 bridges from bus stop and cruise ship shuttle. Only negative is... The hotel was clean and the staff was welcoming. The hotel is small and great to stay for 2-3 days before jumping on a cruise as we did. The room had a queen bed and 2 bunk beds which is great when traveling with kids. The queen bed was hard, but doable. The bathroom is tiny! Not much wiggle room.... More

Room was rather noisy, because of other guests and people walking down the street. Otherwise room was comfortable and clean. The hotel looked recently renovated. The room had private bath room, but it had to be accessed through public corridor. Breakfast was not offered in the hotel itself, but you had to walk to Hotel Florida, about 500 meters away... More

Ok so maybe a lot of this is due to it being Venice but..... Positives: not too far from the train station, though it seems a long way when we arrived.. wifi fast and generally dependable. Negatives: tiny room, the guy who designed it should get an ward for fitting everything in. The room is also very noisy, 24 hours... More

Booked this hotel after reading the reviews here and was quite disappointed. Knowing hotels can be quite expensive in Venice, but with the price we paid for, hoping it would at least be decent. The same price we paid for this 1 star hotel, I'm able to stay at 3 stars in other cities. The toilet is quite cold and... More

This hotel is ideal for a short stay. Foremost, it is very close to bus and train - especially useful in a city where wheeled suitcases ale close to useless. Rooms are small but nice, clean and for a very reasonable price. Hotel has no services (it has wifi), even breakfast is served in nearby caffeteria. But what do you... More

This visit definitely exceeded my expectations. From the outside, this hotel does not look like much, but after climbing the stairs, the cleanly finished reception area welcomes a weary traveller. Albergo was extremely helpful and friendly and completed the checkin promptly. The room was small, but provided the elements needed for a good stay; a firm but comfortable bed, a... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
