We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. We booked the family suite (bottom floor) and it's big enough to accommodate up to four adults. There's also a jacuzzi and all the snacks and beverages are included. Breakfast buffet is not bad either :)

Palazzo Odoni is a quaint, 10 room hotel with a lot of charm. It is in a quieter part of Venice as San Marco and the Rialto Bridge are about a 30 minute walk. I chose it because of the proximity to the train station, since that is how we were arriving to Venice. It was to be about a... More

Probably the perfect location for us, as we took an Actv bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma, then a 6 minute walk to the Palazzo. We were "lugging" two suitcases and a hockey bag, so glad it was that close, and only a dozen steps, or so, to climb/descend. The location is perfect for local restaurants and bars in... More

Very pleasant and helpful staff, beautiful old building, not far from the train station. No elevator to go to the rooms, but the staff was very kind to carry our heavier suitcase up and down the stairs, so it was no problem at all for us. Really great place - definitely recommend going there !

Couldn't fault the loveliness of Palazzo Odoni. Beautiful old building on a quiet canal. Comfortable rooms with luxurious stylish furnishings and with modern clean bathrooms. Delicious breakfasts. Helpful multilingual hosts. Convenient location (short walk from the train station/car park/vaporetto). Would recommend over and over again. The only possible caveat would be that there are 47 steps from the street to... More

Who could not love the charming building this hotel is housed in! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Travelling with 2 adult sons, we were conveniently located on the ground floor in a family unit consisting of 2 interleading, spacious rooms. One room had a bathroom on-suite; the other room had a jacuzzi bath only, exactly as stated on their... More

For young people, or even older folks who are very mobile, this is a great place. However if you are not, this hotel could be a problem for you. There are three flights of steep stairs just to get to the lobby of the hotel, and there is no alternative way up (this is Venice, no elevators to be heard... More

What a fabulous place! We are currently staying in Room 21, and it is wonderful. Very spacious, and the bathroom is great (it has a jacuzzi tub!). There are 3 women with big suitcases, and there is plenty of room in this suite. It also has a large balcony with a lovely view of a church tower. The staff has... More

We stayed here for two nights and it was fully booked, it was very easy to find (for Venice) just a short walk from the bus station, in a really lovely part of Venice overlooking a canal and with great restaurants close by. The entrance was very hard to find as it was behind big closed doors with a very... More

We stayed in the small double room. It was still comfortable with a nic toilet. We didnt like the check out time... 10:30am. The hotel is located 40 minutes from the center but we enjoyed the walks. Easy to find if you follow the ferrovia direccion.

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
