This is quite a nice hotel, tucked away on a quiet side canal. It's easy to get to from the main entrance to Venice - either car or train. The rooms are reasonably spacious and comfortable. However everything feels like it is from the 70's - or even an Agatha Christie set! There's not enough room for everyone at breakfast... More

Had a wonderful stay! The staff are lovely and friendly. The hotel is stunning, you feel like you are in someone's home it is beautifully decorated. The breakfast is lovely and there is a lot of choice. Have to agree with other guests that the coffee is amazing! Don't be put off by the other comments about stairs - if... More

Palazzo Odoni is perfectly located for Venice. We got off the train (from Verona) and its easy to get to by foot. The guy at the reception was nice to help take our luggage up the stairs and yes there are stairs but its really not that much. Plus there are loads of stairs all around Venice! So people shouldn't... More

Our family of four, with two teens, had a wonderful stay here. Our suite was huge with two rooms and two bathrooms and windows overlooking the courtyard. We were in room #6. This room is perfect for families with one double bed and two twins in the second room. The property has an upscale feel and was very quiet as... More

Palazzo Odoni Hotel is situated in a sixteenth-century restored building that belongs to the family of Alessandro Fabris's wife (Fabris is the owner and manager of the hotel). Attention to the guests in this hotel is superlative. The owner, who is passionate about Venetian history and art, gave me excellent advice regarding churches (and works of art) in the vicinity.... It's ok. It is definitively close to the bus and train station. It's really cool how you go in and the courtyard. It is a lot of steps. Our room was not good. The bottles of shampoo and condition and body wash were used. Tissues not replaced. And when we asked for 2 extra pillows they said no because we... More

Well at least I think that's a fair description! We (couple with two boys aged 20 and 15) stayed there last week and loved it. The hotel is extremely clean and beautifully decorated....lots of small decorations that are very tasteful and in fitting with the location. The small entrance area with the red tiled roof and garden is lovely, the... More

My wife and I just spent 3 very pleasant days at Palazzo Odoni in Venice. The hotel is located in a very quiet area within 5-10 minutes walk of both the train station and Piazzale Roma, where buses drop off passengers. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable and well furnished. Our room even has a jacuzzi tub. The breakfast... More

We stayed one night here prior to our cruise. The location is pretty much perfect - about eight minutes walk from Piazzale Roma and the People Mover to the port. It is located right on one of the small canals with a small doorway off the canal which then opens onto a lovely courtyard. However, there are two flights of... More

Lovely hotel, good location; around 8 minutes from Santa Lucia Station. Very comfortable room with free wifi. They also provided us a free taxi ride to Murano. Nice staffs and amazing breakfast...don´t miss the Panna Cotta!

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
