As soon as we booked the hotel sent through directions to get to the hotel and links to sites to visit in Venice. Breakfast was delicious, continental but with everything you could ask for. The location was perfect for getting around the city. I would advise getting a detailed map to avoid getting lost but that seems tio be one... More

We stayed the week of May 13. This was the best hotel we at stayed in Italy. The room was just big enough, the showers had hot water, wifi was decent, and breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke English. Our only complaint was the shower door, which wasn't water tight. We would flood the... More

Venice is, as most people know, notoriously difficult to navigate around and Ca san polo is right in the middle of small streets, and squares and bridges, that all look the same. Not like any hotel I have stayed in before, but then Venice isn't like any other city, so I guess that's about right. The rooms are big enough... More

Great hotel. The check in was easy and quick. We arrived very early and were told if we waited 10 minute they would service our room immediately. The room was great, big hi ceilings and done up in what seems like a traditional theme. It had all the facilities required. The location is just off the grand canal, but plenty... More

Venice is such a beautiful city that you will spend most of your time sightseeing, so really a grand luxurious hotel is wasted. What you really need is a good centrally located hotel which offers you a warm welcome, a comfy bed, a clean room and a good breakfast - Ca'San Polo offers just that! The staff is amazingly friendly... More

My friend and I spent four nights in this very authentic and clean hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I am very grateful for all the tea bags you gave me. The room was very cosy and very quiet during the night. The bus from the airport was 6 euros and about a 10 min walk through... More

My wife and I spent three nights at Ca’ San Polo in Venice. This is a small hotel in one of the very narrow streets in the San Polo neighborhood. The room was rather small and very clean and cozy with high ceiling with wooden beams. The room across from us seemed much bigger. It was also very quiet during... More

We spent 3 nights in this VERY central hotel, with few rooms but each rooms are very cosi and charming. Breakfast are almost the same every morning, but very good (Sweet and salty, all king of coffees, ...) The 2 girls we met at the desk are perfect. They speak 3 or 4 languages, and they are very patient and... More

Perfectly located, this little hotel is a gem. Aesthetically, I didn't think much of it when I saw preview pictures, but upon arrival the hotel had an authentic feel. It was also very clean and safe. The staff was extremely friendly and my wife and I enjoyed it a great deal. The only downside I would have to say is... More

Dear Guests, thank you very much for the nice words you wrote about our facility and your positive comment. As far as the wi-fi, it also works in the other floors, not in the rooms but in the common areas. We are sorry if you couldn't benefit from it but I can see that you have a very positive outlook!... Great little bed and breakfast. We arrived early (around 11am) and a room was already ready for us to check in. The lady at reception was very friendly, helpful and talkative. The room itself (we had a superior twin) was very spacious, clean and Venetian style. The location was great, a two minute walk from San toma water bus station... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
