A little tricky to find initially, but this place is a little gem! Lovely large rooms, with good facilities...air con, safe, fridge. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely. We really liked the area of Venice that this hotel is in....close enough to walk to all the major sites, but away from the hustle and bustle.... More

We arrived at this hotel tired after a long train trip and hauling suitcases through Venice streets, not expecting to enjoy it too much. The hotel is hard to find until you work out the unusual street signs. However once we had arrived we found the staff friendly, the position perfect and the rooms large and comfortable. The secret to... More

We stayed June 10 - 13. Our room was very spacious with a clean bathroom that had a very powerful shower. There was a safe and a mini fridge, which we found useful and the wi-fi was excellent. We were also very happy to have air conditioning as the weather hit 40 degrees during our stay. The continental breakfast buffet... More

We enjoyed our stay here, and found the staff very helpful. Our room was nice and big enough. The bathroom was small, but efficient. The staff emailed us the day before confirming our reservation, and listed directions from the bus station, but in the maze that is Venice, we still got lost! There are a number of small signs on... The previous reviews have explained Ca' San Polo well. It is difficult to find, but in a fabulous location once there. If you want to take a water bus from the train station, get off at S.Toma and it is a much closer walk to the hotel. We were offered an upgrade to a jr suite for 30 euro more... More

The hotel is easier to find if you use your phone map & print screen the route. It's in a great location and quite near the Rialto bridge. I did request a non-ground floor room, and was given the ground floor room on the corner which we were not pleased with. The room quality did not reflect pictures taken etc.... More

We stayed on the fourth floor 58 steps up in a room with a comfortable bed and airconditioning. The staff were helpful and emailed maps because the hotel is hard to find. Wifi was patchy. This accommodation that would be regarded as substandard for the price elsewhere.

Armed with directions and a map, we did a lot of backtracking trying to find this hotel. Street signs and numbers are of little help, since they don't follow any logical system, and the same street name appears in several different locations. It's a bear to find, but once we found it, we were happy to be there. The location... More

Pros: 1. Centralized location 2. Near water bus stop San Toma 3. Helpful and friendly staff Cons: 1. Very small room 2. Low ceilings in room 3. Hotel is a vertical labyrinth 4. Tight stairwells and halls 5. Lower entryway smells Price for this hotel should be $150, not $250. If you are going to spend that much money on... More

Just back from 4 days in Venice and this hotel was part of a great weekend. Our room - 45 was authentically decorated in true Venetian fashion but had air conditioning and a very efficient powerful shower. The room was also very clean decent sized with a mini fridge that we found useful to keep our own drinks in. The... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
