Let's start with email correspondence prior to our arrival. All emails were promptly answered. Our request to share a double room (king size bed) for me and my two kids (6 and 9) and to forgo the breakfast (to save money) were agreed on in these emails and the booking confirmation. We arrived in Venice by car and parked in... More

There is something very questionable going on here. When we checked in of course The Hotel proprietor needed the passports to check us into the room but then said he had to keep them for our entire stay at the hotel as a safety precaution. He stuck them in a drawer below the computer with a stack of other random... More

Accommodated a family of four in one room. The room was on the 3rd floor and remarkably quiet. Bathroom was nice but as you'd expect small (uncomfortably small if from US). Staff went out of their way to give us insights into how to get around on water bus, shopping, gondolas, etc. Very pleased overall.

My wife and I had a good experience here and will return. Great location and as mentioned elsewhere the upgrade to Junior Suite is recommended. Fabio was very helpful as were the staff in general. As a suggestion, if you're coming from the bus or train station make use of the porter service. For 20 Euro they'll take your bags... More

Very conveniently located: it's a short walk (or boat ride) from pretty much anywhere, which goes for all the places in Venice. You're a couple of "blocks" from San Polo (obviously) and the Frari, and about a 15-minutes walk from St. Mark's Square in one direction and the bus station in the other. There are restaurants and gelato places everywhere,... More

If you are looking for a place where you blend in with the locals, this is the place to stay. As I looked out of the bathroom window, I could see our neighbours backyard. There is, however, still privacy. The rooms are clean. If you have a lot of luggage, I would recommend you ask for a larger room. This,... More

I can't be more pleased with our accommodations in Venice. The room is clean, roomy, and has all resources as promised. I would recommend this hotel to friends and would stay again on a future trip. Make sure you have a good map, Venice can be tricky.

The location is excellent (15 minutes walk from S.Lucia train station and from Piazza San Marco). Maybe a little bit difficult to find but google maps did a greate job. If you are staying for only one night like we did it could be better to leave most of your luggage at S.Lucia train station luggage storage (37 EUR for... More

A little tricky to find initially, but this place is a little gem! Lovely large rooms, with good facilities...air con, safe, fridge. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely. We really liked the area of Venice that this hotel is in....close enough to walk to all the major sites, but away from the hustle and bustle.... More

We arrived at this hotel tired after a long train trip and hauling suitcases through Venice streets, not expecting to enjoy it too much. The hotel is hard to find until you work out the unusual street signs. However once we had arrived we found the staff friendly, the position perfect and the rooms large and comfortable. The secret to... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
