We stayed here for a week over New Year, Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small, but all windows opened and was decorated in a manner that reflected the age and beauty of the building. We were in the new part - only 400 years old. The heating in the room was very effective -... More

Clean comfortable hotel in a quiet area of San Polo. Nearest Vaporetti stop is San Toma - 2 minutes walk. Chose a "quadruple" as we are a family of 4. Very reasonable price (about £300 for 3 nights) including breakfast. Only reason for not giving the hotel 5 stars was booking online gave the impression the room was a quadruple... More

Ca'San Polo is tucked away on a side passage just a few steps off the Grand Canal. The staff is very helpful an freindly and the rooms are charming. Everything was very clean. However, though there was a filled basket on the table, and another full of tea sachets, there was no coffee available in the room. We asked, none... More

FIrst of all the staff is very nice and has nothing to do with this review. Easy to find from the water bus. Our room was very small and hot despite the cool air outside. When we were shown our room I asked if we can have the air turned on and the gentleman said the air is only on... More

We stayed here for a few nights in late March 2015. The hotel is very cute, our room and bathroom were spotless. Also the staff was super helpful and even booked tables in restaurants for us, which was very kind of them and much appreciated by us. There is a small supermarket just a few minutes away from the hotel... More

Disappointing system with lift. We were on the very very top floor. No lift though main entrance, had to go outside to different door to be taken to floor below ours to get in. They took our baggage up on arrival and down on leaving, but for the rest of our holiday had to do the stairs. I am almost... More

this is a boutique class hotel located at the san polo neighborhood of venice, which is really centrally located at walking distance to nearly all important city attractions. the place has the air of a family-run hotel with friendly service staff (ciao paola!) and an owner who serves together with them. the room was pretty clean but in need of... We walked from the bus station, and knew it would be confusing, so we used the directions provided by the B&B, as well as Google maps, and had no real issues finding it. The reception was very friendly and helpful in recommending things to do and places to eat. The place was clean and the breakfast options were good. I... More

It was a little difficult to find the hotel, got off at landing stage at San Toma and followed directions we had found in a review. The entrance is just a door off a narrow alleyway. We had pulled our suitcase up one flight of stairs before we were greeted and told there was a lift through another door. It... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
