5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This was a highlight of our trip to Europe this summer. Travelling with a family of four, we had to get two rooms, but they were absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great and the location was perfect for us. This was our first visit to Venice and the Cannaregio area... More

First time treat staying at a hotel on the canal. Family of 4. Great location, lovely interior, clean, quiet, much needed A/C, hospitable young and jolly staff, welcoming free drinks and snacks, nice breakfast included in the very fair price. A dream come true in every way. I would most certainly return again.

Having checked numerous reviews on trip advisor for days on end, I decided to go with Ca' Gottardi and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I booked the hotel, I knew we were in for something special. Having emailed the hotel about a couple of enquiries, I was surprised that Fabio (who is absolutely great) responded so quickly.... More

My family of 4 stayed at the Ca Gottardi late July for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful and my family and I were very happy with the room we booked which easily accommodated us all. Breakfast was simple but good and set us up well for our day ahead. We liked the location of the property... More

As a frequent visitor to Venice, I usually opt to stay in an apartment as these usually compare more favourably in price to some of the city's hotels which can be on the expensive side for the services and facilities they offer. However, having spotted Ca' Gottardi on a booking site and after reading the excellent reviews, I decided it... More

We simply loved Ca' Gottardi! We had a room overlooking a quiet canal. The room was lovely, quiet, yet close enough to hop on the water bus and go anywhere. The room stayed cool in spite of the outside heat. I enjoyed the great selection of infused waters in the lobby every day, and the homemade latte's and expresso available... More

We found this hotel on trip advisor and basically booked it because of the great reviews....and we weren't let down. The receptionist (girl...didnt get her name) greeted us with a smile and despite her clearly being busy, she took the time to offer us water while we waited, and then still went through a map of venice to point out... We stayed at the Ca' Gottardi Hotel in Venice between 13/07/2015 and 17/07/2015, and were absolutely blown away by the standard of service from the hotel staff. Upon arrival, we were given glasses of cold water to refresh us, and were given the run down of local restaurants, attractions and events. We were offered free tea or coffee and advised... More

Really nice hotel and staff. Location is perfect. right next to canal!!!! Fabio and Mateo were excellent. Will definitely stay there again. We stayed in room 203, just down the hall from the front desk and entrance, perfect spot. Only reason I didn't rate it a 5, the wifi in the hotel was very slow and sometimes never connecting in... Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
