B & B Venezia is definitely more than a place to sleep in Venice. It is above all a Venetian Experience. Roberto, the owner, is more like a friend who hosts you and tries to make you feel comfortable and at home. You feel like living among the locals, feeling the real beat of Venice, which surpasses the stressed tourists... More

My wife and I stayed here recently and were really blown away by the value and Roberto. We stayed in the room overlooking the park and it was very room and well appointed. We didn't the find the bathroom small at all, especially compared to the other places we stayed in Italy. The location was perfect for us being a... More

B and B Venezia is a quiet bed and breakfast only a lovely 20 minute walk to the crowded and bustling St Mark's square. Roberto is very kind and friendly. The room was spacious, clean and air conditioned!! Free wifi. The breakfast was lovely. It is also very easy to get to by the vaporetto. Reasonably priced.

My second time at BBVenezia (anche quattro anni fa) and it's still perfetto! Roberto is the kindest, most helpful host you can imagine!! ... made our queen bed into two singles for us on request, lent us an adaptor for plugging in chargers when ours didn't work, made a personal trip to the bar tabac on our behalf to see... It was our first ever visit to Venice and we experienced it the best possible way - away from the hustle-bustle but right by the picturesque bay - thanks to B&B Venezia. We just loved the place, with its airy rooms, clean and well-equipped dinning room, traditional chandeliers and great wifi! The location, St 'Elena, is beautiful and green with... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the BB Venezia during Carnival. It was very easy to find the place after getting off the vaporetto at S. Elena (Google Earth helped, too!). Our room was beautifully furnished, and we had a small balcony with a view of the park and the lagoon beyond. A light self-serve breakfast is available... More

B&B Venezia offers excellent value for money. I travelled to Venice for the carnival recently and wanted a large, attractive room on the island where I could relax away from the crowds and distractions of a busy life back home. The Garden Room provided the perfect, idyllic escape. Bright, spacious and designed with a golden Venetian interior, the room also... More

We have been visiting Venice every year for many years, and until we discovered B&B Venezia and met Roberto, it was always a headache trying to find a place that was friendly, well located, comfortable, clean, quiet and reasonably priced! But now we just book our flights and stay with Roberto and his family. In fact, we just came back... More

On my most recent italy trip i decided to use only bed and breakfasts and guesthouses as these many times offer much better service and amenities than typical 4 star hotels in italy. Well I was right this was a great choice.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
