We loved this hotel and it's friendly staff. The continental breakfast was superb with a great variety of food and drink. We had a family room although we only booked a double so had lots of space and a super king size bed. En suite shower-room with excellent shower and water pressure, and very efficient air-con. High ceilinged with plenty... More

The hotel is not easy to find, as it’s in a small alley, but the location is very convenient, as it’s pretty close to the station and near some restaurants. If you have GPS or a map, it will help finding the hotel. It’s an old construction and the mattress was very soft, despite the first glance, the accommodation was... More

As Venice is having small alleys this hotel is really a plus point due to its location close to Santa Lucia Train station, just walkable, otherwise commuting in Venice with luggage is a nightmare or you need to spend heavily on water taxis. Staff members are very good, helpful and ready to answer our queries with smile, Hotel looks to... More

Stayed here for three nights and had a great room out in the courtyard. AC took a while took to get going and worked great after we got the remote from the front desk. Decent breakfast. Staff spoke ok English. Great location right by train station, bus stops, and shops.

This hotel is very close to the train station which is a huge plus. Don't pay a porter to move your luggage to the hotel as you can roll it there yourself...even in the 90 degree heat! The room itself is dated...at least the one we stayed in. We had a room in the attic. It was snug and looked... More

Stayed here for 2 nights 5 minutes walk from train station and water bus. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Breakfast was as expected quite basic boiled eggs croissants rolls cheese and ham. Chopped fruit if you are early enough. Couple of niggles no Wifi in garden room and hit and miss in other areas. Also no... More

This was a lovely little hotel close to the train station. We arrived after dark and had a little trouble finding it since it's down a very dark, narrow alley. We were glad to find that the desk was staffed 24 hours. Room was small but fine for the little bit of time we spent in it. My wife would... More

We enjoyed our fist visit to Venice. The hotel is steps away from the train station. Was just as close to the bus station when we needed to get to the airport. The location is great. It was easy to follow the signs on the building to the train station. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very... More

Since we have previously stayed in Venice near St Marks square, we wanted to be closer to train station for our 2 night stay, and this little 2 star hotel was definitely excellent value, very close to Stazione, buses, vaporetto.Nice & quiet down a side lane. We booked a Standard room, it was small but very functional, small bathroom but all... More

Located barely 5 minutes from the Santa Lucia, it provides the best access to transport in Venice with no added noise. It's right at the corner of a small lane which underwhelms on its first view, but you walk in, and then if you have been lucky to book one of the 2 suites with outdoor space; you will fall... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
