Rented a room for carnival. Room was totally renovated with new furniture. Got a room with a large terrace. Staff was veey friendly. Breakfast was included, could be better, but didn't really matter for us. (Fruits, meat, bread, coffee, juices (too sweet, not drinkable & yoghurts). I would book again, super close too the trainstation & in lively cannaregio district.... More

Loved this quirky little hotel! Easy walk from bus station, even with suit cases. Very quiet, lovely breakfast, helpful staff. Beds were comfortable, hot water sufficient for a shower, but not a bath, even though we had a nice big bath tub. It was clear there wasn't hot water enough to fill it up. Room was spacious. Could have lingered... More

We have stayed in this hotel more than a dozen times over the last 15 year. Most recently we spent a week there in November 2015. We first chose this hotel because it was/is an easy walk from the train station and the boarding sites for the all of the vaporetti. The staff has always been very pleasant and efficient.... More

Stayed here recently with a group. Overall it is clean and comfortable and some of the rooms are quite quirky. Location means it is nice and quiet. Breakfast was great every day and the staff on the desk were very helpful. Location is handy near the train station and vaporetto (water bus) stops are located nearby. If you are heading... More

We always thought sleeping in the city of Venice would be an expensive and tourist trap experience if somewhat cheaper. Well this hotel proves the opposite. Good rooms, very nice breakfast and all for 55 EUR per night at 100 m of the train station, 400 m of the bus station and at the beginning of your main walk to... More

Stayed here recently, was a surprise holiday for me and marraige proposal from my lovely girlfriend and she couldn't have picked a better place. Very friendly staff that went out their way to make us comfortable, everyone of them consistently helpful and very polite. This is such a wonderful hotel, my partner and I had the most wonderful time, so... More

I picked the hotel based on price and location and both were adequate. Our triple room was located in a detached building separated from the main hotel by a courtyard. The location was nice but our exterior light didn't work (and was never fixed) making after dark access kind of hazardous. The shower stall was small and the door didn't... More

Great choice if your looking for location over luxury, absolute perfection! Only a very short walk from the train and many wonderful restaurants and shops nearby. Staff were VERY friendly and suggested things to do. The hotel is older and some rooms have baclonies, no elevator, but rooms are decent size, bathroom tight but the shower was quit large. Breakfast... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
