The hotel is centrally located for most attractions and yet is far from the crowds and is nice and quiet. It has a water taxi stop right in front. Hotel is cosy but the rooms are very small so you will need to upgrade if you have a baby cot or lots of suitcases. We had two and had to... More

The hotel is on the grand canal with the bus stop to the railway station and the airport right in front. We stayed five nights, and we chose a room that had a view of the canal--not cheap but we thought was well worth it. We loved breakfast in the hotel garden. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We... More

We stayed for three nights this week and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was very helpful and made restaurant recommendations for my wife who has a gluten allergy. Breakfast was good and the outdoor area out back was splendid. The location is tremendous - away from the crowds but still on the grand canal. Less than a 15... More

We stayed for 4 nights in this hotel. It was wonderful. Only a 15 minute walk from St Mark's Square but an absolutely quiet area. The staff were incredibly helpful and the buffet breakfast was just excellent. We were able to get a water bus from the airport to outside the hotel for only 13 euro each. The room was... More

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Outstanding location along Grand Canal. Hotel is clean, fresh and is/feels recently renovated. Would absolutely stay there again. Got a great rate via https://corporateshopping.com

The Hotel has a perfect view of the grand canal.. The Junior Suite is the way to go. Request Room 104! The hotel is walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to St.Mark's and the shopping district. If you are looking for romance, this is the place for you.

We stayed for a few days after a cruise. The room was smaller than I expected, but it was clean and modern. I didn't upgrade to a canal view, so I had a dark alley view. Next time I'll pay for the canal view. The hotel is right on a Vaporetto station which made getting around easier. Most days we... More

The trip to Venice was booked to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday, so a fine hotel was so important. The hotel did not disappoint! From the first email on room requirements to check-out time the staff and the service was exceptional, even delighting my daughter with a thoughtful surprise in the room on the 2nd night. The reception staff are... More

Its rare to find a hotel, that is just on the water with a pier stop in front of it. The hotel was fabulously located. It is modern, well furnished and we had a great stay. The hotel staff were helpful, and the breakfast was so great. The reception staff are always eager to satisfy, and the reception desk always... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
