We stayed at the NH Collection Venezia Palazzo Barocci! What a great hotel. It is located close to the water taxi, it is on the water, it has a lovely court yard. The rooms were very well appointed and enjoyable. You would not be disappointed staying here.

We had two rooms as we traveled with children and the experience could not have been better. The location is ideal and the place is in perfect shape. The breakfast is great and provides you with a sanctuary from all the other ways Venice can stress you out a bit. I would come back again, especially during off season. I... More

After researching various 4 & 5 star hotels for our stay in Venice, I finally decided on this one. I had been going back and forth between the Gritti Palace, the Westin Regina and the Hotel Danieli. However, I did not feel comfortable paying over 1K a night and not be guaranteed a room on the Grand Canal. So although... More

This really was an excellent find and the whole experience made for the perfect holiday! Situated next door to the San Angelo Vaparetto stop for convenience, this hotel had great views overlooking the Grand Canale, close to the Rialto bridge, yet seemed remarkably quiet. Easy access to the Venice regions and many landmarks. Enough about the area! On arrival at... More

Hotel is easy to get to from airport on the allagunia orange line just jump off at the San Angelo stop right outside the hotel. The hotel is very modern having been recently refurbished and is kept extremely clean. Staff are very courteous and helpful speaking good English. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is quite possibly the most central in Venice, located at the San Marco vapiretto stop for taxis up and down the Grand Canal, as well as the airport taxi service. The hotel was recently refurbished and so all public areas and rooms are new and very well appointed. We stayed in a Superior room toward the back of... More

Dear Mr Neil, Thanks very much for your time to write a review on Tripadvisor. Thanks to highlight our central position in Venice. Regarding the visit to the Cam factory im sorry you have the impression you were obligated to buy, for sure is not the case. The factory offer this opportunity without asking anything. In any case, i will... More

I wanted a 4 star hotel in a quiet location within a few minutes walk from St Mark's Square. The Palazzo Barocci ticks all the boxes. Not only that, it sits on the edge of the Grand Canal at one of the stops for the vaporetti. The interior has been recently completely refurbished and the room decors are beautiful, classy... More

From the moment we were picked up by our private water taxi, arranged by Fredrica, we felt looked after. We arrived in the morning so too early for check in but one of our rooms was ready and they let us put our bags there while we went exploring. Breakfast was also wonderful. We thoughly enjoyed our stay.

My Son and I spent only two nights here, but the staff could not have been more friendly, from Yana (I'm hopeless with names, I do hope I got it right!) at the front desk, to the lovely barman and dining room staff and chef who was so happy to make us the most delicious pancakes both mornings! Although this... More

I recently stayed here with my family for three nights. It was our third stop in Europe and by far our favorite hotel. The hotel inside is simply stunning. The rooms are quite large. Much larger than any other location we stayed in during our trip around Europe. You are right off the Grand Canal which is super fun. The... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
