We didn't really know what to expect when we first arrived but this exceeded all expectations. Set on the lovely island of Giudecca, just away from the busyness of Venice but only a 5 minutes ride on the water bus. Rooms were very nice, ours with a view onto the canal. We stayed for 2 nights and honestly couldn't have... More

I was traveling with the group of friends and as we all totally agreed the small hotel on the Giudecca was for us the greatest choice in this city full of tourists. We were a bit of outside the main crowd when we stayed in Giudecca but still really close to the most beautiful part of Venice. It was easy... More

Thought it was a great little hotel, surrounded by two canals. It looks stunning inside and our room was really lovely. It's only a few stops away from San Marco but it's really lovely and quiet around it, with a few nice local restaurants close by.

This is a perfect hotel for staying close to all the gorgeousness of Venice minus the busy-ness and chaos. Guidecca Island has terrific views of Venice, and is a 5 minute vaporetto from San Marcos. The hotel is modern but built in an old convent, on the corner of two intersecting canals. They upgraded my room for free: 254 Euros... More

The hotel is located on a separate (mainly residential) island (not reached via footbridge) which gives it a distinctive charm. Because of this, the place is really quiet. The room we had was bigger than average with a big mirror and a big closet. There was a big column in the room, and some wooden support structures in the ceiling.... More

Located off a little square in Giudecca. Very tranquil location. Stayed for 5 nights in November, only issue I had was mosquitoes! Could not open windows or the room was buzzing with mosquitoes. Good breakfast and all the staff were very nice and helpful. Easy access to rest of the Venice with water bus.

Spent the New Year period at the Domina Home on Giudecca, an island away from the 'touristy' main part of Venice. For us, we couldn't have stayed anywhere better. We were far enough away from the hustle and bustle but the frequency of the boats from Palanca made everywhere totally accessible. We'd taken a water taxi from the airport and,... More

Stayed for 7 days end of November 2014. Upgraded to canal view room on ground floor. Woken up each morning about 6am by boats going back and forth. Also a couple of mosquitos in the room that bit me! That said; the hotel was great. Well out of the way of other tourists. Love Giudecca and its own individual character.... More

Just returned from a lovely week in Venice. Charming hotel situated in on the quaint little island of Giudecca. It was perfect for us as we like peace and quiet and within easy reach of Piazza San Marco & all the other attractions that Venice has to offer. We had a lovely warm welcome by the receptionist who showed us... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
