Our package included bufer breakfast which had been a highlight in Paris and Wengen but was a big letdown here. Not terrible but not great or even very good. Just average. Our bidet plug was also not working right so that was a shame too. The beds were good and the rooms clean so probably 3.5, but not 4 in... More

This hotel was close to the main area San Marco. It was easy to find despite Venice's little winding alleyways. The room was quirky - whilst decorated in a slightly older style (as are many accomodations in Venice), it had an attic type feel, and sky lights fitted so you could see the weather outside before you left. The included... More

Two minutes from St Marks Sqaure, shops water taxis! Everything! The hotel was superb! The rooms are so eloquent, prestine and above all spacious and quiet (good sleeps) with good views! Already book for next year! Thank you

For the price, unbeatable. We had an excellent 2 day stay here - we needed gps to find the hotel, but it was central enough to be only a couple of minutes from St Mark's square. Breakfast was reasonable rather than excellent, but this hotel is fantastic value for such lovely rooms, and such a great location.

Wonderful three nights at this fab hotel. Several days of searching internet we narrowed the selection of hotels down and finally chose this one. We were delighted with our choice, which was based on location price and trip adviser reviews. The outside of the hotel doesn't look amazing in the photos but in reality the street is quite nice with... More

I travelled with my wife and our 15 year old daughter and 14 year old son. We stayed in a family room. It was essentially 2 big rooms joined together and a bathroom. The rooms were big and comfortable and allowed us enough room for privacy associated with traveling with teenagers. The room was off a big lounge / breakfast... More

Not only was this hotel only minutes from St. Mark's square, it was also very near to the Rialto. The location couldn't be more perfect for exploring this wonderful city. We spent eight nights there and found it to be delightful. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. The rooms were clean and well kept. The included breakfast... More

Myself and my partner stayed here for 4 nights on our visit to Venice and can't find a fault at all, Quiet little b&b in a perfect location close to all main tourist attractions. We stayed in a double bedroom which was very spacious with our own little balcony window. There continental breakfast ideal for people who like a light... More

Lovely 3 nights in this hotel in Venice. Family of 4 traveling and we booked into Room 1 & 2 on first floor - which to Americans is 2nd floor. Huge rooms, lots of hot water and a view of the tiny canal that runs right by the hotel. You are very close to San Marco Square, and only about... More

Tucked just behind a canal you are central the San Marco Square and all the attractions. Walk the maze of streets and alley ways to find hidden treasures and good home style food. Comfortable with secure entry you can only enjoy. Thank you Marco

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
