The hotel is tucked away on a narrow street, but most of Venice is so this what you would expect! The location is excellent, Rialto is about 15 minutes away on foot and St Marc Square about 5 minutes. You can get the main boat bus to Giglio and the hotel is a short walk from here. The reception staff... More

The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to San Marcus Square and very close to one vaporeto stop. I liked the room, it was confortable and clean. The breakfast was good too. And the bathroom was clean everytime that I went there

The wifi was very fast. The bathroom and room were incredibly clean, one of the cleanest we've stayed at. The location was very convenient and not too far from San Marco's square and Academia. The staff was very friendly and the location seemed very safe.

We stayed and upgraded to a superior suite as it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The suite was smaller than it looked on the photos and with a small shower room. No Bath and the shower cubicle was cheap plastic with a shower not that great. The hotel is tucked away and you will find a locked gate only from... More

The location is great, the room is cleaned every day. The staff was nice. The wifi is not worth a penny we used the romaing data instead eventhough it is costy, but the wifi was barely working. They asked us to use the backdoor which was closed a few times so we stuck in between two closed door, it was... More

The place was very easy to find, exactly as the description on the website said. When we arrived, we were lucky to be upgraded to one of the ensuite rooms in the 3-star part, which was very very nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful when asking for the way, boat ticket information and prices, and recommendations for 'off-the-beaten-track'... More

It is a nice hotel but I would rather recommend it for young people that want to be placed really in the center of Venice. It could be a little bit more clean and the window could not close completely but for this price and you really are 5 minutes from San Marco. Since we were two girls travelling it... More

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights over valentines weekend. The hotel is central and the rooms were clean, we had a ensuite room. We paid 5 euros each for breakfast and if i am honest I would not have spent that money and ate outside instead. The selection was poor and the tea/coffee was not nice. I have... More

We've enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is great. It only takes more or less than 5 minutes to reach St. Mark's square, which actually a plus point. The hotel is clean. And the staffs are helpful. Overall we are satisfied with our stay in Hotel e Residenza San Maurizio😊👍

We had a fabulous time in Venice and the Hotel contributed to that. The location was superb for all the sights, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but very clean and fine for us. I would definitely stay there again.

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
