Nice hotel in a good location. Very walkable to the vaporetto stop and only ten minutes from St Marks Square. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Shower is exceptionally small but that would be my only negative. Close to many restaurants and shops.

Great location off a side street. We felt safe, it wasn't loud, we had a great view and we were within walking distance of everywhere we went. It wasn't far from where the water taxi drops off. Staff was helpful in offering maps and advice. The only negative consistent reviews we saw for forcola was the lack of a proper... More

The hotel is in walking distance to the Venice's train station. Travel tip: If you arrive by using the train to Venice, choose a hotel near the train station, carrying the luggage might be very difficult because of the bridges. And the ferry ride is really costly 7 euro for one time. So the location is good, you could also... More

Very tiny rooms. Standing shower with a curtain is about 3' x 3'. Hardly any space to keep your luggage. Horrible breakfast. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Can take the Alilaguna boat very close to the hotel from the airport for 15 euros.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff and fresh croissants for breakfast. Inexpensive hotel in a superb location 10 mins from the bus station about 20 min walk to St Marks Sq, rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable, staff were friendly, great value for the money would highly recommend.

Wow, I did not pay a lot so was not expecting a lot! I could not have been more wrong!. The room , reception and restaurant area were spotless. The staff were very very helpful and accommodating, the position was fantastic. The quality of the hotel fittings was top class and when I return to Venice and would not consider... More

What an absolute disaster. Lets start with breakfast. Croissants with jam inside, croissants with out jam, mini baguettes , couple of yogurts, and cereal. If you want to ask for something or need help you will find the girl that serves the breakfast is also the girl who cleans the rooms and 15 minutes after breakfast starts, she's off. Also... More

La Forcola Hotel – dark and dingy room, dirty walls, staff are not warm or helpful at all, located off main strip, good wifi. Breakfast options were terrible. Its ok value but wouldn’t stay here again!

The room was very nice, clean without a problem. Even if it is just a small building in Venice it has an elevator so don't worry about the heavy luggage. It is a bit far from the Roma Piazzale, the entrance to Venice, but it was ok.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
