This B&B only 15 minutes walk from the station. Has all the old world charm of days gone by. Very comfortable and clean the rooms have high ceilings, tall windows with shutters opening out to a lovely view of the court yard. (Marco Polo room). Seperate bathroom and a hallway. Plenty of cupboard space. Breakfast in the room. Seriously consider... More

We stayed here in June in a newly renovated apartment space they're just offering. The rooms were quiet and comfortable and very up to date while still retaining old character. The breakfasts were divine, especially when we were able to eat on their rooftop space overlooking the city. The location is perfect - within a close walking distance of many... More

We stayed in an apartment rented through the hotel. It was right in the center of Venice, just behind the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. Far enough away from the high tourist traffic to be peaceful, but within easy walking distance of all the major sites. The apartment had two complete bedrooms (with bath), air conditioning, and a... Loved my stay at this small B&B. The location is almost perfect. It's a small island so there is not so much point of choosing the very central location. It is reasonably close so you can still enjoy the nightlife, but at the same time it's a bit off center so you can have a decent quiet sleep. It offers... More

Upon arrival we received a surprise "upgrade" to one of the Ca' della Corte's apartment, so we didn't see the normal B&B rooms. Overall, our stay was wonderful, the staff was very helpful and accommodating (helping to organize a porter for our bags when we left and quickly responding to our requests by email), and we found the apartment already... This is an exceptional property - 10 minutes walk from station (Euro 15 for a porter to wheel your bags...well worth it leaving so remain cool on train!). This is a characterful and beautiful property with gorgeous rooms above the ground floor accommodation where the charming owner lives. She has staff looking after the accomm. Breakfast on a tray in... More

I, my wife and daughter stayed for 3 nights. Booked through hotels.com which worked great. Excellent price for the quality. Owner emailed us before we came to check arrival time. Clear directions and easy to find - a pleasantly short walk from P.Roma. Great rooms, air conditioning. Most usefully they looked after our luggage on departure day so we could... More

I couldn't say enough wonderful things about Ca' Della Corte in Venice. The location was nice because it was out of the mainstream of tourist but close enough to transportation to be able to walk, even with our suit cases. The staff were wonderful, helpful and always smiling. We were traveling through Germany and took a 3 day excursion to... More

We had made reservations months ago, but days before we were told they could move us to this wonderful 2 b/r apt near St. friar church, complete with a stocked fridge, vouchers for bfst, maid service, etc. a real treat. Enrica was a great host, made terrific recommendations for meals, all we could ask for. So if you have the... More

I visited this B&B for the third time, for four nights. I really cannot recommend this highly enough. If you want a charming, quiet, delightful B&B with friendly staff, then this is the place for you. The welcome was wonderful, breakfast is simple but very tasty, the rooms are clean and quaint, and the location is perfect - it's very... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
