The hotel was nice with a beautiful entrance. I booked a standard room which was on the ground floor. The breakfast had a good variety and the reception staff were very helpful in recommending places. I sat in the terrace twice and both times had a relaxing time. The decor is very romantic. Definitely work the money.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, this is worse than many motel rooms. First the room is about 80 sqft with a full size bed taking up the majority of the space. When you put you luggage down you cannot even get into the closet. There was not a shower. The bath water could... More

Dear Partner, thanks for your reviews that we always consider useful to impriove our service, but it seems to bad to be real. We have different size of rooms because we are in a venetian palace but none so small. We have cloth on the wall in all our rooms. If the water was just cold or hot, shoul be... More

This Hotel is situated right in the heart of Venice....a very short walk to St Marks Square, the room is lovely and the service was OK. There were cheaper options suggested by friends, but most meant staying off the main island and commuting each day..the location was for us the deciding factor. The hotel organised (at a cost) a taxi... More

After only a five minute walk from St. Mark's Square (and a couple of wrong turns) we were delighted to find Ca Dei Conti as a very quaint little hotel with true Venetian charm. Rooms (although very small) were spotlessly clean, with Murano glass chandeliers, silk lined walls etc, and very quiet, even although our room opened directly onto the... More

Dear Guests, thanks for your kind reviews about our hotel and services. We are really surprised about your comments, because in 15 years never happens that something was stollen in a room. Before your check out we suggest you to go to the police for a declaration if you was sure about it. We would like you consider the possibility... More

Very good location, and front desk employees were ok. First they got us a room (room 107) on the ground floor in front of the staff kitchen, and with 2 glass doors to a Patio. We ask to change and they moved us to the 1st floor (room 306) and it was so small we could not get our luggage... More

Great hotel near st. Mark's square. We were upgraded on arrival to a large elegant suite with views of the canal. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic and very filling. The only reasons this hotel does not get 5 stars is due to the fact that we could not get the AC to work in our room and the wifi... More

Ca' dei Conti came recommended by someone with AAA. The location was great. Close to shops, museums, restaurants. Good overall value. The front desk staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. The wi-fi was slow. The bathroom was open concept which was not great. The shower/bathtub only had half a door so it was cold. Our room also did not... More

Located 5 minutes from the Doges Palace in one direction and ten minutes to the Rialto Bridge in the other, we were impressed with this understated hotel in a quiet location. Immaculate with friendly staff and great breakfast, dining room and roof terrace, our rooms had a/c and beautiful bathrooms. Would definitely recommend and return if lucky enough to visit... More

The hotel is clean, well maintained, in a great location. The rooms are very small. I am glad i picked this hotel as opposed to grand canal hotels because of Tourists crowds and noise. This hotel is minutes away from st mark, and at the same time is hidden in a quite place. My suggestion to a future traveller: make... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
