My wife and I stayed there four nights prior to a cruise, finding the inn after looking at Tripadvisor reviews. Ca Amadi is everything advertised. Great central location, beautiful large rooms, friendly and helpful staff with good advice, and an easy walk to some wonderful restaurants. Breakfast was certainly adequate to start each morning before venturing out in any direction.... More

Really wonderful place, rooms are steeped in history and character and the location is perfect. In the heart of the busy Rialto area but a couple of deserted streets away so you feel a world away from the bustle. Lovely greeting from reception and the people who looked after us at breakfast were polite, courteous and helpful. This hotel is... More

Not a hotel nor a b-and-b but a kind of elegant guest house in a central but slightly off the beaten track location, this establishment is a curiosity because its receptionist is on duty only for few hours in the morning and then after lunch (someone else preparesthe adequate breakfast and makes up the rooms). The staff (or what there... More

In the heart of Venice you can find this amazing hotel. It's central but yet quite behind an alley. The service is extraordinary and the rooms are spacious and amazing. Not to mention the view of the canal. This is Marco Polo's old house and I really recommend it to anyone staying in Venice!

Easy to locate. Was 200 per night and a safe bet actually. Near rialto bridge. Super location yet really quiet. The front looks a bit delapidated but adds to the ambience no end. Which is Venice really. Romantic jaded vintage gothic charm A code let's you in if it's after 7pm as the desk is staffed from 9 to 1... More

We stayed for three nights at Ca' Amadi B&B. We arrived at Venice airport and used the orange boat from the airport directly to Rialto, as recommended in the instructions provided by the B&B a week before arrival. The walk from Rialto to the B&B takes less than 10 minutes and is no problem unless you have heavy luggage. The... More

The hotel is really beautiful and is located at very nice location. With Gondolas in canal just outside the window, the view was always charming. The best part was very helping owner of Hotel (new owner, we were first official guest) Pierpaolo Florain who helped us always and provided all required information in the best way.

Very nice staff, excelent location, extremely clean and decorated but breakfast was just fair. In the morning we are not able to close the bedroom curtains causing a lot of clarity, but of course we are in vacacion so it is not important, Overall very good.

In late September 2013 my husband and I stayed for a couple of nights. We were thinking of staying in a hotel and are so glad we opted instead for Ca'Amadi. Our hosts and their house provided a taste of the real Venice. We caught the water bus from the train station to the closest wharf from where it is... More

Located on a small canal, just off the Grand canal ca amadi is a delightful place to stay on the island. Run by 2 brothers who are so helpful, close to the rialto bridge, close to vaporetto stops. If you get a canal facing room you will hear gondoliers telling their customers that Marco Polo lived there, I don't know how... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
