This hotel is more then a hotel...it's a unique experience to be in a place where probably Marco Polo has stayed. We had a very warm welcome by the owner who put his heart in his hotel. He explained us everything, gives us tips where to go and really made his guests very comfortable. The location was a bit hidden but... More

A great place to stay when in Venice, staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The location is ideal, with Rialto being just a short stroll, with lovely restaurants also in the vicinity. The hotel itself is quite small, which for us was better as you get a better service. Breakfast is continental style, but with a... More

Stayed for 2 nights in August 2015. Nicely located, just a short walk to Rialto. Very friendly and helpfull staff. We had a room with a wonderful view of one of the canals. There are quite a few good places to eat just few minutes away. A bit on expensive side but i presume there is nothing that costs cheap... More

We stayed at Locada ca'Amadi for a few days on December 2015.. The bottom line of our staying is that everything was amazing.. Starting with the hotel, it is a very cozy guesthouse, the building stands from 14th century and is very well-maintained to today's needs. The room we stayed is quite spacy and so nice decorated in Venetian style... More

the hotel is in great location, 5 min. walk from Rialto Bridge and major shopping area of venice. it is also very close to many restaurants and cafes we ariived late at night so it was a bit tricky finding the hotel in the dark - the sign was up high and a bit small. breakfast was good, staff was... We chose to stay here because it is quite close to the Nove ferry terminal but even closer to Rialto Bridge. The map they emailed was handy plus their small signs on the buildings enabled us to find the hotel very easily. It is tucked down a back street and in a small courtyard so it is remarkably quiet. Our... More

This is the second time we have stayed here. We were here for 5 nights. I would definitely stay here again. The owner is so warm and friendly. His recommendations for restaurants were outstanding and he made all the reservations. The breakfast was outstanding with Illy coffee, eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses, bread, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and juice.

From the outlook of the property might not be too impressive but the interior is very well preserved. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is quite. Cleanliness is tip top. Breakfast has variety. Location is hidden from the main walks, need more signs to show directions. Worth the price. Highly recommended.

My husband and I traveled to Venice, September 26 through the 29th. We stayed 2 nights at Ca' Amadi. The hotel is a short walk from the Vaporetto stop at Rialto Bridge which was helpful in coming from the airport and going to the train station. We did have to look closely at the map as the alleyway to the... More

Outstanding hotel. Our room had a stunning view of the gondolas going past. The owner was very knowable about the area and was happy to arrange a water taxi from the hotel to the airport on our last day. The rooms are large and airy and have everything you will need. The breakfast was beautifully laid out in the dinning... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
