Good location. Very close to san marco and all shops. Room was very small. Interior pretty good. It was so "venice" Bathroom also small. Tiny bathub. I even could not join my husband when take shower. Breakfast standard. I loved their omelette and bacon. I just wondering their breakfast for all hotels was same. Is there anyone supply breakfast for... More

Stayed recently during my trip to Venice. Wanted to stay close to St. Marco Square so booked here. The hotel is just behind the St. Marco Square and also walking distance away from the ferry points. Hotel is quite old with very basic facilities. Rooms are very small and even the passage is narrow. Lift is not available for all... More

It's far away from a 4 stars hotel (totally overrated). I was charged in advance for a "superior room" and when we arrived we had NO Air Condition in the room. I'm 5 months pregnant and suffer from high blood pressure (specially with the humid weather). As you know, Venezia is extremely humid (particularly in this part if the year)... More

The staff was very courteous and professional. If you have mobility issues then make sure the hotel knows to ensure you have elevator access as some rooms are only accessible via stairs. Take the free bus to the Panorama Mall for food to save money - there is a fridge and with a 20 euro deposit you get a key... More

We had two nights at this hotel at the end of a 5 week vacation. Check in was efficient and simple. Our room was not ready as we had just arrived from a cruise ship. The hotel was able to look after our luggage while we began to explore Venice. Our room was in the "new part" of the Hotel... More

We had a 3 night stay and were very well looked after. The hotel itself is a little bit tired looking however the service and location were excellent. Our room had a superb view of the gondola park and we could have sat and watched the gondolas all day! I was pleasantly surprised with the self service breakfast selection, there... More

After reading reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to stay at this hotel and we weren't disappointed. It was in a great location, close to Piazza San Marco and in walking distance to most of the main attractions in Venice. The room we had was spacious and comfortable and very clean and was located in a building across the alleyway from... More

It's very difficult to be too negative about the hotel, for a start the location is excellent just a few steps of St Marks square in the heart of Venice. The staff were mostly polite and well mannered except for one guy whose role is unknown to me, some kind of porter handyman. No help at all. The hotel building... More

We booked this hotel for the good reviews it received on Booking.Com and also the the location. We were not disappointed. The reception staff and other stafff are friendly. The Hotel is beautifully decorated inside. We had a small room but overlooking the canal and gondala s. Entertaining to sit on the small patio and watch the passersby. The breakfast... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
