The hotel is located at great location, just 10m to St. Marco. However the reception staff is totally unfriendly and their attitude is poor. The room for 3 is tiny, but can not expect larger in Venice. Our room is at lvl 1 so there are alot of noise. The breakfast is limited however the service is ok.

Lovely place, great location right near Piazza San Marco. Rooms are a good size with good size bathrooms with baths. Very authentic and old Venetian style. Only complaints: bed could have been little more comfy and noise, our room was across from the Hard Rock Cafe where the gondolas are parked during day and night... Very noisy with the gondola... The Hotel staff are helpful and smart. The Hotel has an old-fashioned appeal, situated a right at the San Marco Piazza. Overlooking a canal, with it's own gondola landing, it has an authentic, romantic Venician atmosphere. Although the Hotel has retained many old decorative features, the classical air and fine quality of these (such as Murano glass chandeliers and ornaments)... More

Located very close from San Marco Square and just facing one of the gondora stop (& hard rock cafe), the hotel was not really big but we somehow got the feeling that we entered inside some luxury cruise ship. (Because of low ceiling and narrow hall, outdoor view of water). It was indeed 'venezian' experience and the breakfast variety was... More

This nice hotel has a great view over looking the gondolas as we listened to the men talking, singing and play music. Yes all the windows open. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was Moden and clean but no face washer. This hotel is located 20 meters from st marks square and great Italian cafes and restaurants

Great location (very close from San Marco square) but hasn't been refurbished for many many years. Room was nice (great view on the canal) but lobby and common areas need a serious refurb. Staff very friendly and professional. Overall fine.

Great location- gondola station out the door, a bridge away from St Marks and around the corner from the Hard Rock Cafe. The landing was small and a bit tricky but staff always assisted. Room was comfortable but small but that is Venice. Staff friendly and assisted when ever approached.

We stayed at this hotel in November. We found that it had character. It is in a great location, right next to St. Marks Square. This was a great hotel. Make sure you book a canal view. They have a good breakfast and the front desk is always helpful.

Great location next to St Marks Square & 5 minute walk to San Marco Vaporetto. Really convenient. Our room was not in the main building. Lift not on this side & lots of stairs to get to room. These would be a problem for some people. This side overlooks an alley. Room was small & very basic, we were given... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
