This is such a gem of a hostel! So spacious, quiet, small and relaxed, it was the perfect place for us to unwind after some busy few weeks in party hostels, and constant sightseeing/travelling. It felt as if we were staying in someone's house and suddenly we felt so at ease. We were in a 4 bed female dorm and... More

This is such a great hostel that I feel such a strong need to search for it and write this review. So when we arrived in the hostel, we were quite tired already. The owner saw us from the window, he came down and helped us carry our luggage wih such friendly smiles. Then we checked in but we didn't... More

Everything is expensive in Venice. If you want to visit on a budget, stay outside the city and commute in. Otherwise spend a few extra bucks and stay at this reasonably-priced hostel. You get a clean dorm room with huge ceilings right on the waterfront with an awesome view, a great staff, very conveniently located in the city.

This place is an amazing hostel! It is very clean and smaller. It is quite easy to find as long as you take a water taxi. The staff was extremely helpful and kind! It has a beautiful location and gives a bit of a break from insanely busy part of Venice. I loved my time in this hostel!

Staying at Silk Road is more like staying at a hotel but you share the room with other people. The room I shared was very spacious, clean and light and airy. The beds were clean and comfortable and there was a place to lock up valuables. There is a clean fully equipped kitchen and a fairly extensive breakfast included. Bathrooms... More

If you would rather avoid hostels because you hate bunk beds and room mates that return late a night from a party: opt for the Silk Road. The hostel is small, clean and beds are comfortable. Maybe they could find a better solution for the lockers than handing out a chain and a pad lock, but as the hostel is... More

The location was lovely, right on the waterfront, though it took us a long time to find it. We know now that the easiest way is to get on the number 2 water bus and get off at S.Basilio. Don't attempt to walk. We got lost even when we knew where it was. Alex, the owner, was extremely helpful and... More

Even though we only got to stay at Silk Road for one night, the hosts and the place were so lovely! Would highly recommend! The room (private double with shared bathroom) was really lovely, and although noise from the avenues below travelled up between the buildings, this couldn't be helped. The free breakfast in the morning was also really delicious... More

I stayed here for two nights and had a great time. Alex, the host, was incredibly friendly. He took some of the guests and I on a short photo tour around the area one afternoon then even made us dinner in the evening. The location is very convenient, just a short water taxi ride from the bus terminal, and there... More

This hostel is in a great position to explore Venice and only 15min walk to the train station. Very clean and tidy. The owner Alex was really helpful and made me feel very welcome. Delicious breakfast and coffee in the morning. I would highly recommend this hostel; I can't wait to return to Venice. The best hostel I stayed in... More
