The rooms were very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful when they were there. Location is exceptional and within walking distance of everything within Venice. Overall great value for money.

This hostel was really great. It is ideally placed on the venice island with a lot of restaurant and bars surrounding the place. The owner was very helpful and speaks english and french. The room was perfectly cleaned with a big bathroom. A lovely place to stay !

Loved my stay at the Locanda Matir. The welcoming couple who run the hotel are very helpful about all thing Venetian! When we visited Venice, could not pay the hotel as the credit card machine was not working. The owners were gracious enough to let us stay the weekend. WOW! Perfect location in what is my favorite area of Venice- Campo Santa Margarita. Although the entry is a bit dingy, the service was lovely for a small B&B and the room quite comfortable. Linens were top notch! We slept with windows open as AC was not strong, and although that provided for some noise, it was fun and enjoyable... More

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from where the 'metro' leaves you. We arrived at noon on a really hot day and we quickly appreciated the ample bathroom and aircon in our room. Needless to say, the room was clean, spacious, with a small fridge and TV. No quibbles here, everything was in order for a budget hotel... More
