Old decor but spacious, clean & centrally located to everything... Breakfast is served in another building but I didn't think that was a problem. Our room looked right into the side canal where you can people watch from your window.

This hotel sits on the canal over which the "Bridge of Sighs" crosses, but is not right next to the Bridge. It is just around the corner from St. Mark's which was a big plus in high tourist season when Venice is very hot. We were happy with the convenience, and satisfied with the breakfasts which are available at a... More

We had a beautiful view of the canals and the bridge of sighs, around the corner from St Marks square, and close to th Vapretto stops, easy to get to all the districts, 5 * breakfast in room if you like, great staff (very cordial and helpful), but we payed too much for the room $1700 for 3 nights for... The people in this hotel are all rude and not helpful. They seemed annoyed every time we stop by the front desk to ask a question. This was our first visit in Venice and unfortunately our experience in this hotel ruined our first impression of this beautiful city. You cannot beat the location of this hotel. If you are familiar... More

Absolutely perfect choice in Venice. The location is the start, the rooms are beautiful, comfortable just what you would like to see in such an old and amazing city. Yes, the furniture are bit tired but this didn't bother me in the slates, it was still beautiful and comfortable. We had room 250 with two balconies and stunning view of... More

Great room with view directly to bridge of sighs and out to the Grand Canal and the other direction across the canal the hotel is on. Wonderful to look out early in the morning before the crowds arrive - so peaceful and postcard pictures. During the day in peak season there are a lot of people down on the pavement... More

I stayed here with family over a long weekend and we had a fantastic experience! We stayed in one of their junior suites that cornered the canal, so we had one side facing the canal and the other facing the Bridge of Sighs for which rthe hotel is named. It was great sitting out on the balcony watching tourists snap... More

The hotel has an excellent location with a short walk to all major tourist attractions, just minutes from Basilica San Marco and the Doge's Palace. The central location of the hotel gives access to major attractions in Venice. Enjoyed my stay for 4 nights

The hotel has an excellent location with a short walk to all major tourist attractions, just minutes from Basilica San Marco and the Doge's Palace. Despite this it's very quiet and feels far much more remote with a lovely location over looking a beautiful canal (lovely views) Our room was very clean and authentically decorated, was worried this would be... The water taxi took us right to the door where Enrico was waiting for our arrival. We arrived hours before check in time but Enrico was very accommodating and allowed us to leave our luggage until our room was ready. He is so friendly and speaks perfect English. He also was a great source of information and made sure that... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
