Breakfast was simple but ample. Staff were incredibly friendly and couldn't seem to do enough for us. The rooms aren't big but are adequate - the same goes for the bathrooms. All things considered though it is very good value for money compared to others in the area. Unfortunately one of the neighbours had a dog who barked all night... More

Friendly and helpful staff and good location, the room was clean. Since we had two small kids who needed to sleep In the same room, the size of the room could have been a little larger. Good Breakfast to start the day

This hotel is situated approximately fifteen minutes' walk from St Mark's Square and only a few minutes from Arsenale boat stop: a very good location. The staff are friendly ad helpful, the service is very good and the breakfast was ample. It is by no means a top of the range hotel but if you are looking for something that... More

Below is our summary review of this hotel. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. 1. Walking distance to St Marks Square, vaporetto stops, restaurants and major attractions. 2. Clean and updated interior design, just enough space to move around, bathrooms (toilets) are very clean (most important to me). 3. Our room has a window view of... More

This hotel was perfect for me. The location was very good. Breakfast was very simple but it is very nice. During its best advantage is that all front maneger were very friendly. But one thnig is problem. Soundproofing is not good in the room. The other thing was almost good.

We stayed for one night at this hotel . Room was very clean. Small but adequate for a family of four . Paola was very helpful in arranging a watertaxi for us very early in the morning. Marco at 4am made sure we had some breakfast , yogurt , biscuits and even made a to go fruit bag! Very homely.... More

We had a triple room during July when it was hot hot hot! The air conditioning worked well! Breakfast was delicious, the usual continental offerings. The room, though a little small, was what we'd expected in the centre of Venice, and we had a comfortable 5 days here. The staff were friendly, and we wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was clean comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is well situated with an easy walk to St Marks square and close to Arsenale ferry stop. We had a good continental breakfast. Our only criticism was that the room was a bit small for three of us.

We have nothing but great things to say about our stay. We arrived at 8 am and were able to get into a room to freshen up and drop our bags before heading out to see Venice. We were also able to eat breakfast which we were very grateful for after a night of traveling. Everyone was very accommodating- gave... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
