Very nice hotel in a perfect location, it is not far from San Marco square and the Arsenal. Nice staff, we were supposed to check out at 11, but we were late so we did it at 12 with no problem. Breakfast was ok as well and the room was very nice. Only problem: the bathroom was small

Very good room, great service (everyone is so friendly, they even made a special breakfast for us because we were leaving too early), and great location. Just a few blocks from San Marco Piazza. Easier way to arrive is walking through the shore past San Marco.

This is our second time at the Nuovo Teson Hotel. On this occasion it was for a holiday in Venice to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The previous time was about 5 years ago. Then we had a wonderful room with painted furniture and a lovely atmosphere. And so we anticipated something similar, especially as there had been an upgrade... More

Without a doubt, the best attribute of this hotel is the location. 5 minute walk to St Mark's square and meters from the water. Plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was easy to find, don't believe people that say it isn't. The rooms were nice. Neither huge or luxurious, they were more than suitable. Thank god for... More

My family recently traveled to Italy. Of the five hotels that we stayed in over nine days, this hotel was the most expensive, The staff was very friendly. The breakfasts were quite good. The hotel is about a five minute walk from the nearest water taxi port. It's about a ten minute walk to St Mark's Square. One of the... More

This hotel is on one of the narrow side streets in Venice, but very close to the Grand Canal. It is an easy walk from the vaporetto stop - even with luggage. The hotel is small but very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is very close to San Marco Breakfast was very good. Everything we needed for... More

The Hotel is located conveniently 10 minutes walking distance from the San Marco Plaza. Our room 105 was facing the back and was therefore very quiet. Italian Hotel rooms are often very small, this one had a moderate size, with a comfortable qeen size bed. The good breakfast buffet was offered in a cosy breakfast room. The service was excellent... A small, quaint yet modern hotel with staff that can't do enough for you (especially a front desk assistant named Marco). Hotel was located very centrally to all the important sites to see in Venice, very clean, with a well stocked breakfast buffet to get you started on your day. I would book this hotel again.

We stayed from 20th Sept for 3 nights and would highly recommend this little gem. It's in a great location, the breakfast was lovely and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in walking distance from St Marks Square with all the main attractions.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
