20 minutes walking form Venice St Lucia, not so far from Rialto Bridge and St Mark Square (around 5-10 min walking). Venice is a tricky city for Gmaps users, but it's not so hard to find directions from/to the hotel. Nice breakfast: some fruits, bread, croissants. Clean and neat room.

The hotel is located in a lovely and calm neighbourhood. Next to it, there is a small supermarket, a McDonalds and the "canal metro" Vaporetto station is reachable in 5 minutes. We arrived there on a Thursday and the staff welcomed us in one of the most friendliest ways we have ever been spoken to. After checking in, he showed... More

Our second visit to this hotel, the first time being about 12 years ago and the place is as nice as it was then, we even stayed in the same room. All the staff are great. The room is sufficient, we had one of the premier double rooms with a balcony with all the facilities that are required, the continental... More

First off, the rooms are small - as in petite, piccolo, no room to swing a mouse let alone a cat. However this is Europe, and this is Venice - and unless you want to stay in Mestre and commute in, accommodation will be relatively expensive and relatively small. Having said that, we found the hotel just charming and oozing... More

Excellent tiny hotel. Has only 7 or 8 rooms and small breakfast area, but immaculate. We always found 2 or 3 tables available and the food is more than sufficient - no complaints! There is no frontage to the hotel and we found it difficult to find, here is the route:- Boat taxi from the airport to Fondemente Nove A... More

Great location - easy to reach from the Ca D'Oro vaporetto stop, and it was easy to walk to the Rialto and San Marco square from the hotel. Hotel can be a bit tricky to find but like others have said, look down the alleyway across the water fountain and that's where it is. Room was on the small side... More

A wonderful little hotel. Really nice locals area, everything within walking distance in Venice and if not close to the waterbus. Located near a few restaurants which are around the corner and a supermarket. A fantastic wine bar on the corner which is a must to visit when at this hotel. Staff were great and breakfast was really nice. A... More

The staff were friendly and very helpful! Breakfast was great and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. Furthermore the boat to the airport is just a 5 minute walk away. Thanks for the accommodation, we will definitely stay here again of we come back to Venice.

Not easy to find the right combination of quality, price and convenience in Venice. After a long search, I found this cute hotel in a quite part of Venice where the locals hang out. Very easy to reach from the airport by boat and a short walk. The hotel is an old palace very well mantained and it is a... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
