We recently stayed at CimaRosa, a beautiful B&B tucked away in a quiet area of Venice, but conveniently located right along the grand canal and steps away from the Vaporetta stop, San Stae. We could easily walk to Piazza San Marco, admiring the little shops, church's and bridges along the way or take the Vaporetta to all the key locations.... More

This is a fantastic B & B. The rooms and Breakfast area are beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was yummy for both us and our young children. Very thoughtful and personalized. The location of the B & B is perfect, close to everything yet away from the hussle and bussle of some of the major attractions. We would highly recommend... More

We stayed five days at Cima Rosa, a lovely b & b on a nice part of the Grand Canal, in an area of Venice, Santa Croce just at the San Polo divide, that we hadn't stayed in before. It was like having our own flat, with a beautiful courtyard, large lounge on the Grand Canal, and a shared kitchenette... More

We enjoyed a fabulous stay and CimaRosa. Perfect location away from the crowds yet walkable to everywhere. Looked after extremely well and made to feel really welcome. Great recommendations with the Musica a Palazzo and Tommaso in his boat. Looking forward to returning for another visit!! Mark & Jane R

This is a great location, close to San Stae vaporetto station which makes it easy to get around but away from the crowds - and you still can have a room overlooking the Gran Canal. Staying in an old Venice house is a wonderful experience, especially one with striking decor. Brittany and Lisa were really helpful with restaurant bookings etc... More

We were for two days - the place is located near a vaperetto stop but is quiet and in a non populous neighborhood The staff were nice and did everything to make our stay comfortable - only at the time of check out I found their attitude a bit strange - when we asked for an extension of 30 mins... Loved, loved, loved CimaRosa. The location was fabulous. Close to the action, but yet far enough away too. We loved the neighborhood that CimaRosa was situated in. Our room was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. We had a wonderful view of the grand canal. Breakfast was delicious. When we return to Venice, we will be certain to book CimaRosa again.

We could repeat everyone else's praise of the home-from-home charm of this lovely pensione - and we do! But in our case Brittany and Lisa really went the extra mile, helping us find flights and magicking us a room for the extra night we had to stay after a fire at Rome airport pitched Alitalia into total meltdown. They turned... More

I stayed in CimaRosa in late March 2015 and have dragged my heels writing this Review in case I never manage to book a room there again! And yes, I very much hope to stay there again and again ... Owned by an Italian/American couple with the design taste to which I aspire, everything about CimaRosa is wonderful - the... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
