We stayed as a family of 4 with two children aged 8 & 6 for 3 nights in May. Communication was very good and we were met in the main square very late in the evening and shown to the apartment, where we were given all the information we could require. Apartment was excellent and in a terrific location I... More

We stayed at this property for 3 nights in early October and wished we had been able to stay longer. A boutique hotel of just 3 suites, it was in an excellent location in the Santa Croce neighborhood, a short walking distance from the train station. Carlota met us there and showed us the way. Laura was delightful and very... More

We stayed 3 nights in one of these lovely apartments on our trip to Venice. The service from Laura was first class with friendly emails before travel, including which bus to catch and where to meet Laura's representative as she was unavailable on the day of our arrival. We were met at the bus stop and the apartments were about... More

Our 6 night stay in Suite San Geremia was wonderful; after being met by Laura we followed her on foot and after 10 minutes we arrived, finding the apartment clean, in a quiet laneway, with outlooks over rooftops from our bedroom and the small grassed courtyard at the rear from the living areas. The air sang with church bells throughout... More

I admit I am rather surprised with how positive the reviews on this place are... Do not get me wrong: the place is far from being awful! We found the mattresses to be rather uncomfortable which made us sleep not very well. Furthermore, we found the bathroom on our first day not to be spotlessly clean, which was a bit... More

We stayed in the Corti dei Santi from the 28th of July to the 3rd of August 2014. We are a family of four from New Zealand and we really enjoyed the place. Laura (the manager) was friendly, obliging and very easy to contact. She also gave us lots of information about the area upon arrival at the apartment, and... More

I normally don't bother to write down reviews but on this occasion I have to say Venice and the apartment in the heart of the city were absolutely great. Ideal for a couple. Collected by Carlotta at piazzale Roma who was also able to suggest us nice place/restaurant Highly recommend it!

The apartment is located in a quiet street in a relatively non-touristy area. The apartment owners met us at the Piazzale Roma and gave helpful advice in terms of the local area and within Venice as a whole. The apartment itself was very comfortable, clean and having a small, fully equipped kitchen was great as in Venice we were travelling... More

After 4 days spent in Venice this July, we are already planning a return trip. Venice is beautiful and our stay was made perfect by the great apartment (san Barnaba) in Corte dei Santi. We were met at the bus station by Orial - a French speaker as my husband is French- who took us to Corte dei Santi and... More

We just spent 4 days at Corte Dei Santi appartment. It had large rooms and was nicely decorated: very Venitian. We were welcomed by Arial who picked us up from the bus station and shared his knowledge of Venice with us. The apartment was very clean and quiet and I liked the little touches like the Occitane shower gel. It... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
