The Novecento is very well located in the main island of San Marco and is walking distance to all the main attractions of Venice. The service is warm and the rooms are comfortable. The downside is that the rooms are quite small but then I understand ALL hotel rooms in Venice are small.

From the moment we stepped into the eclectic little hotel on Calle del Dose, we knew we'd made the right choice! The Novecento is a fantastic little gem on a quiet, narrow street, just off of Campo San Maurizio. Only a 10-15 minute walk from Piazza San Marco, the Galleria dell Accademia, and other famous Venetian attractions, the Novecento was... More

We have spent two months in Europe and this was our favourite Hotel! We felt welcome, safe, comfortable and refreshed. The staff were so welcoming and the hotel is within close walking distance to St Marks Square. We will definitely come back next time when in Venice!

The Novecento Boutique Hotel in Venice is an absolutely lovely, charming and comfortable hotel to stay in: Beautifully decorated, friendly and helpful staff, excellent location near the Museum of Music. Highly recommended, wonderful atmosphere! We were grateful to have found such a wonderful hotel to stay in!

The Novecento is a fantastic little hotel, a few minutes walk away from the chaos of St. Mark's (which, if you know Venice, is a blessing). The staff were absolutely lovely and made the experience exceptional. The rooms are cozy, warm and inviting, as are the common areas of the hotel. If I were returning to Venice I would only... More

We stayed here a couple of years ago but I've only just got round to joining TA. This hotel is charming and centrally located. It's not luxurious but has nice stylish touches. The service is excellent and the overall price represents value for money. The photos uploaded by other guests are worth looking at as they give an accurate sense... More

We were 2 couples who made Venice our first stop on a 3 week tour of Italy. We arrived by water taxi to the Novecento and were welcomed as warmly as the Venetian weather! It is only a few metres to the door of Novecento from the canal. Our rooms on the 2nd floor were lovely with all the comforts... More

Wonderful top notch 24 hour service--above and beyond--including terrific restaurant suggestions. The decor is cool, romantic, and exotic--like staying in the home of a world traveler in Venice. Each room is different and there are very comfortable common areas and a beautiful small garden. This is not a five star hotel--rooms are lovely but a bit small--but the value and... More

From the moment we arrived the service and kindness shown by all the staff, was superb. We had taken my elderly parents with us, and they were shown such kind attention at all times - including their very own tea tray brought to them each morning. All the staff were extremely helpful with recommendations, especially for local restaurants - we... More

We only stayed one night, but received a warm welcome and delicious coffee and pastries on arrival. The hotel is near the Grand Canal but not too close and was absolutely perfectly placed for walking or boating round Venice. There is a vaporeto stop nearby and the surrounding area has a lovely feel to it. Restaurants recommended by Novecento were... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
