This hotel in conveniently located only a 2 minute walk from the Plaza San Marco, Though you have to walk past the stores of Prada, Cartier and Louis Vuiton. The easily distracted may never make it. There is also a gondola station 50 feet from the front door. The rooms are small and even two small individuals such as my... More

If you want to be close to st marks square this is the hotel ,it's less then a five minute walk and on a canal . The rooms are small but this is all over in Venice . Breakfast was good , but u have to pay for wifi but it's very fast . Only down side beds are hard... More

I loved this little hotel right next to a very busy canal, very busy because it's full of gondolas and shops but it's very quiet at night and near to St Mark's square, shops and other attractions. I enjoyed breakfast though it's a bit crammed in the morning and the heating was too high in the communal areas and it... More

I stayed two nights, the first night I stayed in the room with my mother, but her flight home left early the next morning so I had a day and night by myself. The staff was friendlly and I didn't mind paying for internet because I figured that it was probably cheaper to pay 5 euro for a couple hours... More

My wife and I travelled around Europe for 6 weeks and there was no way we were leaving until we visited Venice (her words!) so we picked a central location and found the Lisbona. This is a tough review, the location was simply amazing, close to everything, great restaurants and the major attraction are very close, we asked for a... More

Hotel Lisbona has a great location, just walking distance to visit the best of places of Venice. Some great Live music is played at San Marco square that one can enjoy till late and come back to the hotel. We had room at 3rd floor and after checking in got to know there is no lift as it is a... This hotel is about 350--400 years old. It has great location, (near the canals, and churches) except it's hard to find as GPS doesn't work well in Venice. It's hidden away down a hallway and not on a main street. Beware of the fine print when booking this hotel, as we did not, and found ourselves on the 3rd floor.... More

To try and be fair about this review I have decided to call it. The good, the bad and the ugly THE GOOD The hotel is in Venice as stated! THE BAD We had room 23 it was tiny, as was the bathroom. The TV was very old and only had one English channel (The news) I appreciate the style... More

If Venice you desire and feel is unique. Then the Hotel Lisbona is something to seek. The rates was so good, the climb up worth the trip. To go back in time, when one Owner ran the Ship. The accommodations so quaint, a time capsule up dated. No lift is required, to feel Venice reacquaint. Of places to stay, that... More

We stayed here for 4 nights on our first proper trip to Venice. This hotel was great value for money considering its location. The concierge was extremely helpful in recommending the best places to eat a main meal as well as bars and a gelato. We followed his recommendations and were not disappointed! We stayed in a superior double so... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
