Wonderful quiet B and B by St Marks Square; rooms small but gorgeous! But the hosts are the best; they set the bar of hospitality from giving great suggestions for touring and timing, for breakfast, food, comfort.. 24 hour availability. Can't say enough lovely things about this B and B. Your all around comfort and experience is their priority.

Very easy to find in a quiet little courtyard just off St. Marks Square also very close to the Rialto Bridge. The staff were waiting for us as we arrived and were extremely helpful as they were at all times. Fabulous bedroom in an old world Venetian style, very clean and the bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom again spotless... More

We stayed here in late April. Loved this cozy hotel! Great location, steps away from St. Marks Square. A little hard to find at first....I had read this and took a water taxi to get there when we first arrived in Venice and I am glad I did, as I am not sure I would have found it otherwise. My... We had a wounderful extended weekend at Locanda Orseolo. Our (superior) room was magnificient (see pictures) with a view on the Orseolo Canal. You will see the room is quite sizeable. We arrived with line 2 at Rialto and found it easily, but it would not have been easy for everyone (you can also use the Orange Line straight from... More

This was our second visit which was every bit as good as our first one 5 years ago. Our room was of ample size and nicely furnished with a good bathroom and A/C. Getting there is easy by water taxi. We've done it twice now without a hitch. The location is super, literally just steps to St. Mark's Square. Yet... More

This place got rave reviews on TripAdvisor and we had high expectations which unfortunately were not met. I felt the need to give an honest review: The Good: This is an excellent location, minutes away from San Marco Square and the Rialto bridge, albeit a bit challenging to find your first time around. The staff are all warm, friendly and... More

I really can't improve on all the previous comments about this fantastic small hotel. Great staff, friendly and helpful, good breakfast and a wonderful room (14) overlooking the canal and the singing gondoliers!Thank you to all the Peruch family for making our stay, and my 60th birthday, so unforgettable. The late night water taxi arrival through the hotel window was... More

From the moment we arrived at Locanda Orseolo’s water entrance, everything was perfect. The hotel is in a great location just off St Mark’s Square and the rooms and ambiance are charming. However, it is the welcome you receive which makes this place so special. It is a pleasure to be greeted by your christian name and nothing is a... More

My husband and I stayed at Locanda Orseolo for two nights at the end of our Italian honeymoon. We agreed that this was our favorite hotel of the four we stayed in during our time in Italy. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our room was on the smaller side, but very well-appointed and comfortable. The staff... More

This is a most delightful small hotel. All the staff/owners are utterly charming and couldn't do enough for us. We were super comfortable and well-looked after. Centrally located yet tucked away in a small courtyard, this was a perfect spot to retreat to between excursions around the city. The room was cosy, but graciously so, the furniture was charming -... Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
