Stayed August 2014 for our 25th WA. Hotel fronts directly onto the Grand Canal off its own pontoon. We arrived from the airport in our our private water taxi - its the only way to do it in Venice. Hotel looks amazing inside, old world, perfectly clean and staff are extremely polite. Breakfast was a simple continental style and adequate.... More

We booked our stay at this beautiful hotel with Inghams holidays . It was very special to us for our Ruby anniversary. It was certainly up to a very good 4star hotel. Its staff were very helpful with anything that you needed. Its position on the grand canal was just perfect. We had a fabulous time looking at all that... More

Just 20 meters away from the St Angelo vaparetto stop, this property is surely an ease to walk to. The moment you step in, you are greeted with friendly smile and service. The rooms are grand with decor include fabric on all of its walls. The balcony faces the grand canal thus has great morning views of the daily Venetian... More

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful hotel. Jacuzzi tub was the best for a long vacation with so much walking. We loved sitting on the grand canal having our Cappuccinos and biscuits outside the hotel just watching life in Venice. We had Issues with our AC and the safe on arrival. They were both fixed... We stayed for four nights inApril at this lovely hotel. Staff were warm, helpful & knowledgeable. Their recommendations of restaurants were perfect. Our room was clean, comfortable & nicely appointed with a terrific view of the Grande Canal. We started our day with a nice breakfast in a cozy dining space & typically, after a long day of touring Venice... More

Returned two weeks ago after third stay at Sant' Angelo. Excellent botique hotel. Professional and friendly staff. Nice location 10 minute walk to Saint Mark's or Rialto Bridge. Steps from Vaporetto stop. Wonderful, elegant bar overlooking Grand Canal. Great breakfast.Rooms are getting pricey, but so are all hotels in Venice. If you can afford it, stay in Venice at Sant' Angelo... More

Great weekend break for my 50th birthday, staff were extremely helpful particularly on reception who couldn't do enough. Location was ideal and about 15 min walk to Rialto bridge and St marks square. The hotel recommended a meal at its sister hotel Antinoos which we did and would thoroughly recommend, the food and service was excellent, expensive but that's what... More

Venice was our first stop on our Italian honeymoon. We stayed at the Palazzo Sant'Angelo and loved it! The service was great and the staff were very kind. Breakfast is quite good. I especially loved the decor of the room. This hotel has a "sister" hotel in town with an excellent restaurant where you are entitled to a 20% discount... More

The hotel is in a great location, easy to get to everything and the staff is very committed to customer service. We were sincerely greeted every time we went by the desk, the breakfast staff and bar staff were also personable and professional. We used the hotel arranged airport pick up service and would recommend that for anyone especially after... More

This is truly a boutique hotel with old charm and contemporary service. Its location is almost perfect:close to the main places of interest, a few steps from the boarding place for the Linea Arancia boats to the airport and the Vaporetto 1 to the railway station and San Marco. Al Angelo is a breakfast-and-bar hotel and both facilities are 4-star.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
