The staff were on top form, very helpful and whilst we arrived very late on our first night, it was in very easy walking distance (no need for a taxi) from the water bus terminus and were able to still purchase a drink from the bar. I stayed at the Villa Pannonia on the Lido in June 05. Location is good, about a 5 minute pleasant walk from the vaporetto stops and plenty of shops, restaurants etc in the area. A group of 9 of us stayed in August 2004. We found the hotel to be clean and basic. Staff efficient but not overly friendly. Some of us had air conditioning and some had fans.
