Very noisy and staff seemed aloof. Free breakfast but no toaster. Wouldn't stay again. The one good point was the good location. We stayed in several other hotels in Italy and this was the worst by far. On the surface it looks beautiful but this beauty is only skin deep.

We were thrilled that our 3 person room ended up being a one bedroom apartment layout, and it was spacious, beautiful, and VERY clean. I was surprised at how big our space was! The bed was unfortunately very uncomfortable, and there was a lot of noise outside throughout the night. It's very close to San Marco Square, and it's a... More

I've learned the hard way over the years that when traveling in Europe you really want to stay at a 4 star hotel for it to be about equivalent to what we call a 3 star in the United States. This room fell seriously short of my expectations. While the location was quite convenience (although difficult to find), the room... More

This was poor accommodation and not as advertised The hotel was very tired and not clean Booking in was stressful, and was given a room totally unsuitable for two people. I should have been a single. Was given an inferior room over the hotel entrance 309 was dirty and shower full of mould. Breakfast was an experience itself, the noise... More

After 2.5 weeks travelling from Rome, to Florence n then Venice, the room was comfortably and quaint. Bed, by Italian standard, is pretty hard. Asked for extra pullows for 3 persons and they were sent within 5 mins. Staff were always friendly and finally, breakfast had some hot food! Bacon n omlette! Trust me, after eating nothing but bread, cereals... More

This hotel is in a great location, very close to St Marc's Square and Grand Canal. Breakfast is included and there is much to chose from. Check in was ok, however the reception staff have little knowledge of tours etc. They do try and get you on a trip to Murano to watch the glass blowing, I presume all the... More

Venice is the perfect destination when you travel to Italy. It's a must see!!! Unfortunately we didn't had that nice experience. We booked a superior room that we've seen on the hotel's web site. Surprise, surprise.... The management decided as a gesture to "upgrade" for the same cost our request to a SUITE. We were not informed about the "Upgrade"... More

My daughter and I started our 2 week trip to Europe at this hotel and it was perfect. The room was nice, smaller than in the US but I think that is usual there. The location was perfect, close to everything we wanted to do. The breakfast was a very nice too. I would definitely stay here again

Dear jan10SouthWales_UK, Thank you for finding the time to write your opinion about our Structure and our Services. We are so glad and satisfied to acknowledge that your stay has been pleasant as planned. Unfortunately, more or less all Standard Rooms in Venice are not so big, as they are set in old Palaces' spaces, but our Suites are slightly... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
