Having been to Venice and the Lido before, we knew exactly what to expect of the location. It was, however, the first trip away for our six month old. We needed quiet relaxing and comfortable accomodation. close enough to the vaporetto but far enough away not get the commuters noise in the morning or the revellers returning in the evening.... more

I have to suggest to stay on Lido not Venice. Its a great little island with its own charm and it has a beach which is great. Its really easy to get to on the watherbus, ferryboat and the island is a very safe and clean. Our stay ( my wife and I ) at Russo Palace Hotel (we spent... more

Our stay here was a fabulous experience, the hotel is lovely overlooking the Lagoon. Very clean and well kept, the maids do an exellent job. Our room was a double superior on the 3rd floor with a lagoon view, it was great to watch the lagoons activity early morning and evening, even the cruise ships entering and leaving Venice. There... more

The first thing I have to say is don't stay in Venice, stay on Lido. Its a great little island with its own charm and it has a beach which is great. Its really easy to get to on the waterbus, which runs 24hours and the island has a very safe suburb feel to it. I would rate this hotel... more

The hotel is based on the Lido island a few minutes walk from the beach and Vaparetto from Venice. Staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel was a great base to explore the city but escape the crowds and experience a more relaxed environment in the evenings. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard and breakfast was... more

We returned from Venice a week or so ago after staying at the Russo Palace for a week. For us, the Lido was an excellent choice as it was away from the main tourist areas of the City (but only 10 mins from St Marks on one of the free water taxis put on by the hotel every morning). Accomodation... more

This hotel is fine, but not 4* by my standards. The reception area is nice and all the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are average - a bit tired and dim, but neat and clean. The bathroom in my room, however, was really cute - it had obviously been renovated and was very new, modern and... more

The Russo Palace is a lovely hotel situated on a quiet island in the Venetian Lagoon. It's a short hop to Venice on the Vaporetto and the peace and quiet is well worth the journey. We stayed for 2 nights. The first night we were allocated room 1 on the ground floor. The room is big and comfortable, but with... more

My husband and I stayed in the Russo Palace Hotel for 3 nights during our honeymoon trip in Europe. It was a great stay. We chose a deluxe room with a seaview and a balcony. The hotel staff were very nice and friendly and willing to accomodate all your requests. I was nice to stay away from the tourist area... more

Lovely family holiday (ages from 17 to 89) in Venice made possible by welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent services and amenities. Very clean. Breakfast every day (plenty of choice) overlooking the lagoon with view of St. Marks. Dine at Trattoria la Battigia (hotel will tell you where it is) and try the small fish restaurant round the corner next to... more
