Venice was hard enough to find your way around it would have been nice if there was a little signage to show where the hotel is , once you're in i didn't mind checking in over Skype but everything else was poorly done the pillows were flat (no extra ones either) the two beds that make up the one double... I visited Venice with my mother for the first time. The location of the hotel was great. The hotel was nice and warm as they always had the heating on which was great because I hate the cold. The hotel was not really manned by any staff. We were given 2 keys, one for our room and one for the main... More

The hotel is located far away from the railway station and not easy to locate when arriving at the closest pier at San Salvesto .... took 60 euros to reach. There was no one at the reception and no human interface to check us in...just a guy on the TV screen issuing instructions of our room allotment with instructions of... More

Do not use this hotel EVER !!! The room is tiny, the bathroom is smaller. Staff are available only by video and then hang up on you if you ask for someone to come to your room to help you get the aircon working or figure out the wifi. This was all within our first 10 minutes of being there.... More

This was a great place for having as a home base. The room was not huge but 5 of us fit comfortably. Our room looked into the plaza where the church bell rang, but only during the day. The air conditioner was broke when we got there, but the staff was nice and willing to help. The breakfast was perfect,... More

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights in December 2014, and it was wonderful in every way. Great location very close to the Rialto Bridge, friendly stuff, clean rooms (we stayed in room no.2) and delicious croissants served for breakfast. Tanya was friendly and helpful at all times. "Таня,спасибо за подарки". We will gladly return to Venice and... More

Perfect location a few steps away from Grand Canal, small but cosy and home like. Nice, clean and spacious room with all you need, friendly host speaking 5 languages ( Paul, thank you so much). Perfect cappuccino and croissant served right to the room makes your morning in Venice unforgettable.

We stayed here before and loved it, but this time the manager seemed over-worked and stressed out. It is in a great location near the Rialto Bridge, but a bit noisy and in our opinion over-priced and not very welcoming!

In my experience this hotel is the worst one I have ever had. Thay gave us a horrible room on the ground floor. When we ask to give us an other room, thay said that we booked econom room (when we booked standard room). So they didn't resolved this situation, didn't satisfy our request to talk with hotel keeper (actually... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
