This was a great place for having as a home base. The room was not huge but 5 of us fit comfortably. Our room looked into the plaza where the church bell rang, but only during the day. The air conditioner was broke when we got there, but the staff was nice and willing to help. The breakfast was perfect,... More

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights in December 2014, and it was wonderful in every way. Great location very close to the Rialto Bridge, friendly stuff, clean rooms (we stayed in room no.2) and delicious croissants served for breakfast. Tanya was friendly and helpful at all times. "Таня,спасибо за подарки". We will gladly return to Venice and... More

Perfect location a few steps away from Grand Canal, small but cosy and home like. Nice, clean and spacious room with all you need, friendly host speaking 5 languages ( Paul, thank you so much). Perfect cappuccino and croissant served right to the room makes your morning in Venice unforgettable.

We stayed here before and loved it, but this time the manager seemed over-worked and stressed out. It is in a great location near the Rialto Bridge, but a bit noisy and in our opinion over-priced and not very welcoming!

In my experience this hotel is the worst one I have ever had. Thay gave us a horrible room on the ground floor. When we ask to give us an other room, thay said that we booked econom room (when we booked standard room). So they didn't resolved this situation, didn't satisfy our request to talk with hotel keeper (actually... More

Good location, but the first night we stayed on their planks of rock was so bad that we couldnt get any sleep and had to return back to the room after an hour of heading out to try and sleep again and missed the whole day. Also requested a double bed but got 2 single beds put together with no... More

It's a struggle to think of anything I liked about this hotel to be honest. I suppose if I were forced to pick something I would say the general location in relation to the main attractions in Venice was good. Lots of things were awful. Here are the top 3: 1) The hot water in our shower did not work.... More

We just stayed 3 nights. The beds were really hard and pillows were hard to. The breakfast was okay. The old lady with glasses at reception was extremely rude the whole stay. Constantly rolling her eyes when I spoke to her. The so called cable tv only had one English channel which was mtv music. They stay was okay.

This little B&B is very central. You can catch the waterbus number 2 from outside the station and it will take you directly to the hotel just past the Rialto Bridge. Rooms are pretty basic and typical venetian which will please some people. Bathroom was spacious but not as clean as it could be. Breakfast was served in your room... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
