I spent a week in this amazing B&B with other friends. We rented a room and it was a very nice room. The location is amazing but what I liked most, are the people: Giacomo, Luciano and Alina are absolutely amazing. I think that this is one of the nicest B&B for women that I have ever seen in my... The hostel was extremely clean all the time and the beds were really comfortable. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Location was excellent, very close to San Marco square and other main attractions. Although the bedroom was big, there was no lockers for the belongings and few places to plug a charger. Lights were really dim. Hard to find at... More

t is hard to review this hostel ( b&b) because it is not just a hostel it is a complete experience! But I will review it as objectively as I can. The rooms are large, with high ceilings and very airy. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless. Breakfast is available each day around a big table where guests can share... More

Friendly is a girls only hostel which is more like a cosy home with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, showers, and a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, microwave, and refrigerator (also a cute house cat which like the place is well, Friendly). The location is in the serene Campo Santo Stefano which is very easy to get to from the... More

I had booked 2 nights in this Hostel but I had all of my belongings stolen in Germany so I had to cancel my trip and return back to the UK. I contacted Friendly Venice to ascertain if they could perhaps allow a cancellation of the room I had booked due to my circumstances but they have never had the... More

The hostel really can only take a little of the blame for the bad night sleep I had at Friendly Venice. The room lights were left on till after 11 and people were pretty noise and inconsiderate so not much sleep could be had although I don't think the reception staff talking loudly outside the door at 10.45 helped (if... This place is a real find, absolute treasure – it’s a lovely spacious hostel over the bridge from the academia bridge in a really lovely square with places to eat and drink on the doorstep but no noisy at night. There’s no bunk beds, the rooms are spacious and kept really clean and fresh. There are loads of loos, bathroom... More

I am really glad I have spent time in Venice charming. I stayed nearly one week in B&B Friendly and it was a great choise. The environment and stuff are really friendly :) and available to help anytime. It is located about 10 minutes away from the main square Piazza San Marco - first time maybe a bit difficult to... I felt like home. The rooms were like house rooms and so did the bathroom, the kitchen and the dining room! The best decision I´ve ever made. In the bathroom they have everything a girl could use. Its near Piazza San Marco, but a litlle hard to found because of the policy of no signs in Venice. The personal is... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
