This place is only 5 minutes walk from the Venice train station and busy shopping street but is in a super quiet spot in a low-rise complex. The staff were very efficient and helpful, and the room was big, comfortable and had all mod-cons. And it had great air-con for the hot summer! We would definitely stay here again.

The apartment is only an 11 minute walk from the train station however, my boyfriend and I really struggled to find it. We had two maps and Google map instructions but due to it being separate apartments and not a hotel we really could not find it for over an hour. Which was extremely frustrating and tiring, we asked a... More

We began our stay in a room for two which could not really be described as an apartment - really a hotel room with a microwave, bar fridge, and some crockery. There was no kitchen or kitchenette to speak of and no where to sit other than on the bed but the bathroom did have a washing machine. It was... More

We stayed in this appartament for two nights. Good things: it is very clean and nice, spacious. Not so good things: they are charging 20 Eur if you come after 7 p.m!!!!!!! I think it is not normal. Other thing we did not like - the noise in the morning. This area was very quite in the evening, but during... More

The apartment staff was terrible! They emailed a misleading map to me and I was lost as a result. The middle age fat lady kept calling me every 5 minutes saying she needs to go out and rushed me to check-in. I told her I can't find the apartment with the map's direction but I should be very close. She... More

Very nice, newly-renovated, spacious 1 bedroom apartment in quiet area 10-minute walk from S. Lucia train station with no bridges (15 minutes from Piazzale Roma with one bridge). Convenient to vaparetto stops. Very clean. Comfortable bed plus sofa bed in living room. Large bathroom with washing machine (didn't use). Small kitchen area had good-size refrigerator, 2-burner cooktop, microwave and oven.... More

Located close to the train station ( without any canal crossings) in a quiet residential area are these well appointed, modern apartments. Despite the good directions we still had difficulties finding the reception area as it is not easily identified. There are a number of excellent restaurants close by. St Marks square is a comfortable 40 minute walk. We loved... More

This is a great place to stay! It's in a quiet residential area, yet still less than a 5 minute walk to lots of restaurants, the train station and Vaporetto stops & only about a 10 minute or less walk to Piazzale Roma if you're coming in by taxi or shuttle from the airport. If you're getting dropped off in... More

Located very near to Venice Santa Lucia, it is rather tricky in the beginning to find, but it is very near. The room is quite full equipped with all cooking and eating equipment. Possible to buy food from nearby supermarket and heat it in the room. The heated water for showering is sometimes not so stable (can be suddenly cold... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
