The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hotel is situated in a fantastic location. The decor is fantastic and the free WiFi and other amenities are top of the range. A really enjoyable stay, would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was beautiful, had simply everything I could possibly need - even two bathrooms!!! Huge, comfortable bed and comfy sofa and chair. I was surprised how quiet it was as it over looks a fairly busy street, great to have a coffee outside and watch all the wonderful masquerade costumed people going past. Well situated for San Marco and... More

We booked two adjoining rooms - one for my husband and me and the other for our two teenage children. We arrived around midday on a bright sunny but very chilly January day and were met from our water taxi by the hotel porter who wheeled our bags from the pier up the road to the hotel - only a... dear Angela_Lisa_M, thank you a lot for your extensive and positive review which I read with attention. as you wrote, Venice is a town rich of history and places of interest, so even if in two days you can have an idea of her, of course it is also a quite limited time, so I think it would be great... As always, you made our recent stay very special. We appreciated the welcome sparkling wine and the attention to detail. The breakfast buffet is always a delight. The smooth assistance with a 4 AM departure was excellent. I can't wait to come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were great, especially at the front desk. Clever semi-nautical theme with art deco flavour. The room was very clean - thank you. Good breakfast. Excellent location. Good value. One of the owners was pitching in with decorations - at how many hotels do you see that? One certainly felt cared for.

We thought that the service was exemplary, and nothing was too much trouble. The room cleaning was discreet, and done well, and we liked the option not to change the sheets everyday. Coffee and fruit in the corridors was a new idea to us, but I think, a good one.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
