This is the third time that my wife and I have stayed at this hotel, and we will surely return. Located in Dorsoduro right behind the Accademia Gallery and close to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, away from the noise of San Mark's Square. Several good restaurants within easy walking distance, and vaporetto stations on either side of the island. Cordial,... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this modern hotel. The location was terrific walking distance to everything. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay and offered tips on where to dine, where to shop and what to be careful of, which was mostly the Gondola drivers. They were good enough to book for... More

My husband and I attend the Venice Bienniale every other year and have stayed at the Ca'Pisani three times in the past 6 years. And it has consistently felt like a home away from home. It is off the beaten track enough, that you can get a very peaceful night's sleep, and calm spritz in the afternoon and a full... More

Charming staff and great rooms with excellent modern deluxe bathrooms (shower-head weird though), this is a place I'd stay in again. It's just far enough from the craziness of San Marco that you can have your breakfast (among the best I've had!) on the street outside without getting gawped at, but close enough to the essentials that it's not a... This is a perfect place to stay in Venice. It's authentic Deco design adds to the charm and its location is lively but quiet. I highly recommend this lovely place. Being in the Academia adds another layer which is different than the normal tourist experience

dear Donna A, I read your review and I want to thank you a lot. as you pointed out, the Dorsoduro area is one of our 'Pros': centrally located, but at the same time out of the huge crowds, and with art galleries, bars, nice small shops/boutiques, and of course some of the most interesting cultural attractions in town, and... The hotel was a little gem. Clean, good food, helpful friendly staff which made our stay even better. There was a kettle for tea and coffee facilities on the hallway outside our room. Even ice maker. It is two minutes walk off the water taxi stop and in the quieter area of venice.

As many others have said, this is a real gem! I thought I'd died and gone to breakfast heaven. Just off the beaten track to be quiet but less than 100m from the ferry-bus. Good shower, great shaving mirror, cocktails served on the roof (just use the hot line to the bar provided), fast free wi-fi etc etc. Rarely, if... More

dear PaulB, thank you a lot for your long, detailed and positive review on your stay. I must admit that the part on breakfast made me smile, especially because we really work hard on that aspect and to get such incredible comments is - I must admit - a big satisfaction. so you quoted many 'Pros', and a couple of... Having been to Venice quite a few times over the years we surfed the internet and decided to book this hotel and found a little gem! By coincidence we had saved a year old newspaper article about the Dorsoduro area and lo and behold we then noticed that this hotel was recommended! We recommend it too! Very friendly staff, nice... A very good stay - friendly staff and high quality stylish rooms. Also a quieter location than many areas of Venice but accessible to museums and main places of interest are within walking distance. There is also a roof space for sitting/relaxing although we did not use it.

dear LizW, thank you very much for your nice review and the positive comments on the hotel and your stay. as you wrote, among our Pros our guests usually quote our quiet location, the friendly (and at the same time professional) staff, and the roof top, which is especially utilised in the good season. we all hope to have the... We have just checked out of the Pisani having enjoyed 3 relaxing nights stay. The hotel staff throughout were helpful and attentive. Free breakfast was superb the rooms immaculately clean and the beds very comfortable. The location was quiet but not too far from all the main attractions. We plan to visit again!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
