Loved our hotel, nice location (once we figured it out), cool terrace on roof, wonderful breakfast...man who waited on us all three mornings greeted us with a smile and was there licking split with coffee. Desk people would NOT answer phone while we were asking for help....that was pretty cool. Would go back...in a second....in fact wish I were still... More

It takes time to get around in Venice. You need to do everything on foot or go for very expensive motorized transportation such as the buzzy water bus or expensive water taxi. So location is key. This hotel has an excellent location, 100 meters from the Accademia bridge. This gives you easy and speedy access to all parts of town... More

I recently stayed at Ca' Pisani with my mother for three nights. My overall feedback is that this is an excellent hotel. I thought I had booked a standard room with 2 beds but the room we were given had a double bed. I asked reception if they had anything else and although they were fully booked that night they... This is my second visit to the hotel, the first being 10 years ago. Not sure if they changed their room categories, but our room was much smaller than I remembered (even though we upgraded) with very limited bath supplies. I was also dismayed at the sell job for the free glass tour we got on check in. We had... More

dear CaFamilyOf5, thank you very much for the review which you wrote on your recent stay, and the time you dedicated to write it. actually, for us it is difficult to reply because it would be very useful to know in which room category you stayed the first time you were here ten years ago, but we can not get... We stayed 3 nights in April and found the location to be perfect. Our room, #29, was very comfortable and all needs were met. The staff was very friendly and professional. The decor is interesting and fun. Breakfast quite good. Even the housekeeping staff went out of their way to greet us. A great place to stay!

Many many thanks for being our 'home from home' during our stay at your hotel. We have already commended your hotel to other friends and colleagues. Staff were always friendly and helpful and ready to advise us where to eat etc. Great location away from the bustle across the canal

The hotel is very well located (the area is not too touristic: a plus for us). It is very comfortable and clean. Personnel is very helpful and friendly. Standard classic room are very small but well equipped and comfortable. Restaurants nearby are excellent and not too touristic. A wonderful place to stay in Venice .....assuming that you take a superior,... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
