This place is a treat for anyone traveling on a budget. Very big bang for the buck, this place exceeds 2-star expectations. Wifi and a breakfast buffet are included. The staff is very friendly and polite. They even appreciated (or tolerated) my continued fumbled attempts at Italian greetings and salutations. The best part is the picturesque courtyard. It is an... A nice modest hotel in Venice, 15 minutes' walk from the bus station, and 20 minutes from the . It has small rooms with small but sufficient bathroom. In the entrance to our room and to the bathroom were two stairs, which is something you should pay attention and be careful about. The breakfast is ok, in comparison with usual... More

My friend and I stayed here for three days on our 10 day trip to Italy and this was our last stop. First we took the train from Florence which was easy. However, once we got off the train we were in trouble. It took us an hour to find this hotel. A lot of people didn't know where it... More

Stayed at this hotel for two nights, staff were very friendly and helpful, checkin was made simple and easy, the rooms are outdated but very in set with the hotel look, rooms were clean and spacious, the offers a simple breakfast buffet, nothing special but a good way to get your day started, the surrounding area is full off shops,... Small but quaint room. Simple but tasty breakfast Friendly and polite staff. Shower was good with none of the notorious Venetian overflow/flooding problems. Nice restaurant within 10 meters of the front door. Only criticism was the very flat pillows. Very pleasant stay considering it was only a 2 star hotel.

This is a 2star hotel and as such was okay. The room was small but there was crisp clean bedding. The breakfasts provided a reasonable selection of choices, and the young staff very helpful. The best thing about this hotel is the location, all the main points of interest are within walking distance and it is only about a 10... More

We loved our stay here. An intimate small hotel with a great breakfast each morning. Some private baths and some shared. We shared a bath, but never even ran into the people we were sharing it with. Great for the budget since we prefer to spend our money on fun. Very clean and great employees. They were extremely helpful when... More

Nice staff, tiny bathroom, basic bedroom, no lift, great breakfast included (a late start at 8:00am meant that we had to go without when we left for the train) about sums it up. I know that Venice, in common with most European cities, is very expensive, but this hotel was too expensive for a basic, old-fashioned hotel which had only... More

Close to both the port and the train station. Stayed four nights. Arrived by plane, left by train. We took a speed boat taxi to get there from the airport. (110 Euros) Pricey but worth it as the taxi dropped us off steps from the Hotel. We were very tired after flying in from Canada. Once we figured out the... More

I am writing this review now while I am still staying in this hotel since last night. There is no forgiveness for what this hotel provided to us since the first night stay. Last night, we (my husband and I) requested additional pillows due to there were only 1 flat pillow each person. The only person/staff said there is no pillow.... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
