We really enjoyed our stay. We only got to hotel at 11pm but was still helped by friendly staff. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice. The best thing about the hotel was the location and the reception area which felt like stepping on to a 1930's movie set. One afternoon, we returned to find 2 ladies painting... More

Hotel Marconi is just next to the bridge Rialto! Great location. But about the rest you forget it. Very basic in everything. Very small room, no view to the canal, no balcony just windows to a very small road, except some 3 or 4 rooms in front with very small balcony and over priced (plus 100 euro/day to the standar... This hotel is in a great location, just 30 seconds from the Rialto Bridge, not even a few minutes walk to the shops and market and a nice ten minute walk from St Mark's Square. The staff are very friendly and were excellent at guiding us to where we wanted to go and the easiest way to get there. They... More

We stayed at the Marconi for four nights. Very clean great location, breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is great for walking to San Marco and of course the many restaurants and shops. We especially liked the Florida restaurant located just outside.

I spent ages researching hotels for Venice as this was to be a special occasion for my wife. The Marconi had mixed reviews but you have to learn how to read them for an objective , realistic appraisal based on the class/star rating. What I found in these situations is to give yourself an upgraded room which hopefully means you... More

Stayed at the Marconi for 2 nights with friends and had a lovely stay. The rooms were very clean, good towels, beds, and breakfast buffet was pretty good. Only one concierge told us he didn't know of any "slightly cheaper but delicious restaurants"...so we were a bit disappointed with the service he gave us. Located right on the grand canal... More

Just got back from this hotel and we could find no fault during our stay. We knew it's location was excellent but didn't know what to expect room-wise as we had managed to secure a big discount by booking with Trivago. We need not have worried, the room (303) was spacious, very clean,a big wardrobe which also had a free... More

We stayed at the marconi for 4 nights towards the end of feb.The location is great. The main entrance and reception wasn't quite as grand as the hotel photos. At check in,we were asked for credit card details,a first at any hotel where I have prepaid. It was incase we broke or took anything or used the mini bar!! I was uncomfortable... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay 23/01/15- 26/01/2015. This hotel is in the perfect location situated next to the Rialto Bridge. Being a group of ladies on this trip, we all felt safe and secure in this hotel. Room 110 was adequate for 4 persons and was clean, warm and comfortable - beds were made everyday and towels refreshed... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
