Stayed at the Marconi for 2 nights with friends and had a lovely stay. The rooms were very clean, good towels, beds, and breakfast buffet was pretty good. Only one concierge told us he didn't know of any "slightly cheaper but delicious restaurants"...so we were a bit disappointed with the service he gave us. Located right on the grand canal... More

Just got back from this hotel and we could find no fault during our stay. We knew it's location was excellent but didn't know what to expect room-wise as we had managed to secure a big discount by booking with Trivago. We need not have worried, the room (303) was spacious, very clean,a big wardrobe which also had a free... More

We stayed at the marconi for 4 nights towards the end of feb.The location is great. The main entrance and reception wasn't quite as grand as the hotel photos. At check in,we were asked for credit card details,a first at any hotel where I have prepaid. It was incase we broke or took anything or used the mini bar!! I was uncomfortable... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay 23/01/15- 26/01/2015. This hotel is in the perfect location situated next to the Rialto Bridge. Being a group of ladies on this trip, we all felt safe and secure in this hotel. Room 110 was adequate for 4 persons and was clean, warm and comfortable - beds were made everyday and towels refreshed... More

Brilliant location, we we're able to walk everywhere from this hotel. Clean rooms, good bathroom with shower and a small bath. Free safe, Lovely breakfast, free wifi which worked! Helpful staff. If you are arriving late in Venice beware that the water buses are not very frequent ! We had to wait ages and change twice as it was 23:30... More

Just returned from a wonderful weekend in Vencice. Stayed at the Hotel Marconi, which couldn't be better situated. A trip from Marco Polo airport n the alilaguna boat which stops right opposite the hotel. On our arrival at the hotel we were met by very friendly staff and shown to our wonderfully clean and well presented room. The breakfast in... More

great hotel. good location, handy for everything. rooms are clean and comfortable. breakfast more than adequate. the only down side was there are no lifts. if you are fit and able, then no problem, if you struggle with stairs, then could be a bit of a chore.

Had a great time with 4 nights here. Fantastic location, very reasonable price with great breakfast and friendly staff. Would stay again on next visit. Not the slickest run hotel but more than adequate taking everything into consideration. We loved it.

Just returned from the most fabulous trip staying at the Marconi Hotel on the Riva Del Vin. Perfect location to explore both San Marco and Rialto as situated next door to the famous Rialto Bridge. You couldn't want for a better spot. Although staff were abrupt, this is general of Italians in the city as found it difficult to make... More

The Hotel Marconi was a great find! The location just a few steps from the Rialto Bridge was very central to everything to see and do in Venice. The Vaporretto stop is just on the other side of the Grand Canal - which makes it easy to get around. There were three of us and we had asked for a... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
