An amazing weekend in Venice with a lovely stay in this little hotel. The breakfast wasn't much to speak of but very kind staff and warm clean bedrooms and facilities. Would definitely recommend. It's right in the heart of Venice and close to everything you might need!

We stayed here in Oct. It was hard to find so make sure house have an address. The rooms had nice furniture, however it just didn't feel clean. Our bathroom had some mold stuff going on, grant it this is Venice and there's lots of moisture. It is close too SanMarco square if you like the tourist stuff. They include... More

Venice is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. From walking into the 'lobby of this hotel you realise that it will be basic. All rooms are upstairs and there is no real reception area. This hotel is a few rooms and you step outside the room and are directly in the breakfast room which does not have enough... More

After talking to people and reading reviews, we felt like 2-3 days in Venice would be sufficient to get a good taste of what the city has to offer. For those of you who have not visited venice before, make sure you have comfortable shoes and have a handheld GPS and don't even try to look for your hotel on... More

This hotel is in a fantastic location close to st marks square, shops & restaurants without being noisy. The hotel is typical of Venice - small but with character. Our room was 107 the triple suite, it had lovely antique furniture, very spacious with good sized beds and two windows opening out to a nice view of a quiet canal. The... More

Stayed here for one night - family of four squashed into one room. Normal, old Venetian, tired hotel. Nothing great. Air con worked, no views, but centrally located very close to San Marks square in a quiet area. Desk staff friendly & helpful enough, were able to leave our luggage there for the morning. One of the doors of the... More

The location is excellent, close to St Marks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nothing to get excited about and I don't think it adds any real value to the stay. You can buy the same thing fir a few euros in the cafes nearby. Our room was awful. We were not expecting much but it was still... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
