Its a little gem walks away from st-mark's square and every other attraction. The view from my room was very nice. It was a double bed with 2 single beds pushed together. The owners are friendly as well. They give u recommendation on the sights to see and eat, Nico's gelateria was one them and it was great!!! Breakfast in... More

Great location only 2 minutes walk from San angelo water station, rooms clean bathroom very small however did not spend much time in the room. Breakfast has a reasonable choice and found the staff very helpful, especially the nice man in the evening who gave us directions to a good choice of bars and restaurants only a short walk away.... Staff very friendly and location, very good (50 meters from vaporetto stop, without any bridge and Alilaguna stop also). Old hotel bad I think almost all hotels in Venice are like that. Wi-Fi in the rooms All main attractions allways full, with very long queues.

Location location location! You can walk everywhere but easily get back to hotel to take a break. Staff warm, welcoming, helpful with directions, suggestions. (That rude person referred to earlier must surely be gone...or transformed!). Rooms basic, no frills, but clean with all the essentials. Extremely quiet. Superb coffee. There were extra courtesies: the maids noticed I had in-room snacks,... More

I stayed this hotel from 31 Oct till 3 Nov 2014. Location: less than 5 mins from St Angelo water taxi station, no bridge, can take the water taxi directly from the airport. 5 to 7 mins from Academia, 10 mins walk to Rialto bridge, 10-15 mins walk to St Mark square provided you dont get lost! Safe. The hotel... More

The owners of the hotel is a great persons. Thanks to them. Me and my wife had a good time in Venice. The last night we spend at room number '6', was very cosy and clean. The hotel is close to all points of interest. Easy to find, just 50 meters from the pier Sant Angelo.

Just came back from a fantastic stay at this hotel in Venice. It is in a brilliant location - very close to both the Rialto bridge and St Marks square. Only meters from the San Angelo vaporetto station so very easy to get to from the airport. Lots of brilliant restaurants close by too. The staff were so friendly to... More

This small, family owned hotel, is perfectly situated just a few steps from the vaporetto station San Angelo. The boats to and from the Airport stop here as well. It is close to the San Marco Place and to the Rialto bridge. The room was nice, clean and old fashioned. The breakfast was good and contained all that I wanted.... More

Very pretty boutique hotel not even five minutes from the Grand Canal water taxi stop San Angelo. (even pulling to large suitcases was quite manageable). Within a ten minute walk of St Marks Square and in another direction, Rialto Bridge. Great location. Front of house staff were most accommodating although they do not speak English we were able to get... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
