Venice is expensive. Was in transit for just one night, didn't want to splash out on posher digs. The closest transport stop is the Guglie stop on Alilaguna's linea arancia. From there it's a walk over a small bridge and a few hundred metres to the hotel entrance. There is a flight of stairs to get up to the lobby.... More

Located just beside Venice St. Lucia station. Saves tourists a lot of money in avoiding exorbitant fares charged by the gondola-taxis at the railway station, when coming with luggage. Rooms are moderately furnished, with no refrigerator. Breakfast reasonable. Charges more than in Rome, for a similar quality.

Perfect location. Just 3~4 minutes from Santa Lucia train station. Also, very close from vaporetto station and easily accessible to Piazzale Roma. The hotel room was very clean and quiet. Staffs were friendly and kind. One thing I didn't liked was there were no lifts... but overall, Hotel Adriatico is a nice hotel.

Very near the train station, this hotel has the basics needed for a stay in Venice. You will want to be out on the city, so why pay more? Friendly staff and good accommodation. Breakfast was nice and there are stores and supermarkets nearby.

Stayed here for one night with my family. The hotel was clean, tidy and is located in a great spot. It is super close to the train station as well as to the boat service. We brought some ready made food with us just to save travel cost and the host let us used their facility which was very nice... More

This little hotel is clean, close to the action and inexpensive for the money pit that is Venice. The breakfast is light but palatable with nice coffee. Our room came equipped with those quaint shutters which you find in Venice, and that pleased my wife. What really made the stay for us (as a family with a small child) were... More

I stayed 3 nights with my wife at Hotel Adriatico. The hotel is very closed to train station. Besides is near to "Piazzale Rome" where is easy to take a bus for the airport. The room is ok and clean. Our room was very quiet, but some rooms at first floor are very near to reception and the breakfast room,... More

Stayed for 3 nights. Biggest positive for this hotel is it's location. No bridges or stairs. If you arrive with bags you will understand why this is good. Reception staff are great. Friendly and helpful every time. Room was ok. Had everything I needed, comfortable bed, clean and everything worked. Shower is the smallest I have ever been in. Breakfast... More

Located only a few minutes' walk from the main train and bus stations. Hotel is clean and quiet. Wifi (no extra charge) available throughout incl. guest rooms. Watch out breakfast area is small, thus doesn't take much to get full. However, if full, hotel staff will ring your room when there's a table available. If you can't wait, go early... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
