The hotel is very close to San Marco and reasonable price. The room is a bit tiny but clean. Breakfast is good with lots of choices. We only stayed one night in a triple room. Overall I would stay here again due to its central location and affordability.

The hotel is right behind St. Mark's Square so the location is outstanding. I don't feel, however, as though the three star rating is accurate due to: - low water pressure and a shower that takes 10-15 minutes to start producing hot water - a double bed that is really two twins pushed together (don't count on snuggling with your... I had some reservations about staying at this hotel before I arrived but at the price for the location I couldn't resist and I'm so glad I chose to stay here. The location can not be beaten. A few steps from St marks square, across from the hard rock cafe, close to loads of little restaurant and small walk to... More

Stayed here late March 2015. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Service very friendly. Breakfast was good also. Found it easily enough. About a 2 minute walk from San Marco sqaure. If you are coming to venice when it's wet season, be sure to waterproof your suitcase or you will have very wet clothes!

Warm, clean, wonderful location, elegant furnishings if not a little jaded added to the charm and I would describe as bijou. The only thing that we did find annoying was the fact that it was up a rather steep flight of stairs-not easy with a heavy suitcase. But you must remember how reasonably priced it is. Our room - 22... More

Rooms very clean and comfortable.Arrived late but given a warm welcome by one of the night staff. The ensuite was kept immaculately clean with fresh towels daily.Very accessible for St. marks square. Stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of March, and pretty much everything was fine. Checked in with no problems, everyone I encountered there was friendly and helpful - the guy on reception when I checked in carried the bag to my room. Room was small, but perfectly adequate, if a little on the dark side (but I'm overly... More

This is situated about a minute walk from St Marks square and it was good. Even during the floody day time, we get to go around. There are a lot of adjacent streets which you can walk through. I was also expecting a small bedroom, but it was a pretty good size. We can comfortably fit 2 big luggages inside... More

Small hotel and rooms but the location is everything in Venice and it was so worth it to stay on the island and near the square. I got a really good deal on this room for the night we needed and was very happy with the value. Breakfast isn't expansive but is very simple and enough to get you going.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
